Hi

I have fucked up.

I deleted PSQL by removing the 2 PostgreSQL 8,3 and PostgreSQL 8,3 programs in controlpanel.

Then I installed the 8,27 version and downloaded PT3 (to use with Boss Media).

When trying to use PT I decided I would not have it, so I uninstalled PT3.

Then when trying to start up HEM it states:

"The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to ´127.0.0.1´

When I press OK it goes to the menu where I can connect to the PostgreSQL, but when klikking "connect" it states

"A Connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to hvae Holdem Manager attempt to start the service?"

When trying that, it just stats "sorry, Holdem Manager was unable to start the service"

PLEEEAAAAS Help!

Ok,

In case you don't have do that, please reboot your computer.

Here is another FAQ with more points: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=171

If it don't works, can you uninstall/reinstall (Control panel) the same version you used when it worked.

You can find versions here: http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/

Ty, have now uninstalled Postgresgl and downloaded it again. But when trying to install it comes up and states:

"Data directory already contains a PostgreSQL database of this version. This database will automatically be used, there is no need to initdb. If you want a clean database, remove the existing data directory and try again"

When then klicking next 2 times it installes, but then when trying to start HEM the same problem as in my first post happens!

OMFG I am not good to this computer things.... please help

Most likely its a problem with the database, the best way to figure out if it is a problem with the old database or just postgreSQL is to stop the postgreSQL service, then go to C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\Data

Copy the files at this location to a new backup folder and Uninstall and reinstall PostgreSQL 8.3 and then create a new database. If it gets this far it looks like the database is corrupt if not we know its a problem with postgreSQL not connecting and we can try some other solutions
