I got HM to install just fine. Everything seems to be going well with postgreSQL until it gets to about 95% complete. On screen it stats:

Service: PostgreSQL Database Server 8.3
Starting Services

This goes on for 2 minutes or so then I get a error that stats:

Error 'PostgreSQL Database Server8.3' (pgsql-8.3) failed to start. My only options at this point are to retry or cancel. If I retry I get the same problem. When I cancel it rollsback the action.

I am running XP Pro. Firewall and Antivirus have been turned off while installing. I have also tried to uninstall postgresql and HM, but with no success.

Can you reboot your computer.

Uninstall Hm and postgreSQL and after that, go to Program Files and delete hm's and postgresql's folders manually.

Reboot your computer and reinstall everything.

Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
Upload HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.07beta.exe

Tell me if it changes something.

I'm having the same exact problem, but I tried everything in that FAQ. I'm using Vista...UAC is off. Firewall is off. I put everything I needed to as an exception. I followed everything step by step, but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

You say firewall is off, is that disabled or completely uninstalled?

It is disabled...does it need to be completely uninstalled?
