So I have succesfully installed HEM and postgress and as I am trying start the program I get these messages.

The accout name and password corresponds with the ones I typed in during the installation of postgreSQL, yet it wont work.

At one point I got it working by spamming the connect button and I came to this page:

http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman02/HEM4.jpg

where I created a database named HEM which actually seemed to work just fine, until I restarded my computer getting back to image number 2 with error message. Once again I spammed the connect button (stupid yes I know..) and got to the window on image nr 3, but now the previously created database named HEM is just gone, and I cannot make a new one without getting error messages.

So how do I solve this?

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. If you have Vista and the checkboxes are greyed out and you can't select it, please turn UAC on, reboot, and then set the files to run as administrator.

Which SQL version did you install?
Try adding port 5432, postgres.exe and pg_ctl.exe to the firewall exceptions list.

If you then still have problems, install SQL 9.0.3 (or 8.3.x) to port 5433 and connect to that instead. You can download them from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)

I use Windows Vista with the default windows firewall and AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011.

I did set holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe to run as administrator by following this guide:
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/129/Run+.exe+Files+As+Administrator+%28Windows+7+%26+V ista%29

Could not run the dbcontrolpanel.exe as admin though, as it had no properties box where I could check "run as administrator".

I believe I've installed the 8.3 version of SQL (downloaded both posgreSQL and HEM from your website).

However it seems to work now after I manually configured my firewall. Will update if I have any further questions later on.

Thanks for the help.

Never mind, now it isn't working again..

It seems as if the datebase is crashing every now and then. Sometimes it appears to stay "crashed" so that I cannot start HEM. Other times I can open it like every second time.

Any clue what could be wrong?

Install SQL 9.0.3 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org) to port 5433.
And connect to that instead in Database Management (=dbcontrolpanel.exe)

Then reimport your archive into the new database.

Appears to be working now.

Thanks.
