I'm getting farther.

But I have a problem at the "Initialis Database Cluster" step.

It says -"the postgreSQL data directory must be on a NTFS formatted volume"
"If you wish to install the data directory on another type of partition(which is not recomended, and is unsupported) you must initialise the database cluster manually by running initdb.exe."

This is Double Dutch to me - can you help please?
BTW, I use Windows XP.

Sounds like you need to convert your partition to NTFS. There is a command line tool that will do this for you in XP. I'm not sure if HEM would recommend to just manually initialize the db or convert your partition, so i'll hold off on posting the syntax to convert. If you want to you can google "convert fat32 to ntfs in windows xp", i'm sure there are some decent walkthrus that will get you around this error. GL

1. Navigate to Start > Programs > Command Prompt.

Note: In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type cmd and then click OK.

2. At the command prompt, type in CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS. Replace [driveletter] with the letter of the drive you’re converting. So for example, if you’re converting the c drive then you’d type the following: CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS and press ENTER.

I tried the above but get the following message - "ACCESS DENIED AS YOU DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT PRIVILIGES. YOU HAVE TO INVOKE THIS UTILITY RUNNING IN ELEVATED MODE"

Can anyone help?
