View Full Version : Viewing lifetime stats in HUD for hero in the replayer (HM3)

How do I view lifetime stats for hero in the replayer? I've played around with all the settings and it only shows stats for that session. I have toggled "Stats Up To Time Of Hand" and that doesn't get what I want.

FYI: It is possible via a manual config edit, but may cause some performance issues depending on your system specs, database size, number of hands you open at once in the replayer, number of hands for everyone in the hand, etc:

Close HM3, exit the server icon from the Windows System Tray and view your C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0 folder with Windows File Explorer. If you can't see it, turn off the windows option (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/130/How+to+See+Hidden+Files+in+Windows+) that is hiding that directory.

Please right-click and 'Copy' ONLY these 2 files:
- HoldemManager.config
- HoldemManager.config.bak

And paste them to a new folder on your desktop.

Open the original C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0\HoldemManager.config file in a 3rd party text editor such as https://www.sublimetext.com/ or https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ and add

<Key Name="ForceLifeTimeHudStats" Value="True" />

below Section Name="General".

It should look like this:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jbjjv0ss8955re0/hm3lifereplayerhud_img%20config%20edit%20example.p ng?raw=1

Save the file, close it, and launch HM3 and open the HUD - HUD Options - 'Stats from the last X hands (0 for all)' setting to a number greater than 0.

Note: The '(0 for all)' is currently hard-coded to limit the hands count to 20,000, not 'all' like it was in HM2.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t4nwvhum06payws/hm3replayerlifehud_config%20edit%20hud%20options.p ng?raw=1

https://www.dropbox.com/s/s4i66gt46uxlqyd/hm3replayerlifehud_config%20edit%20replayer.png?ra w=1

*Note: You can edit the config file to 'True' when using the Replayer, and then to 'False' when playing live to see your table image on live tables instead of lifetime hero data.

Hello,

Today I got a reply that HMT-1428 was resolved. However, I still cannot see all the hands in my database showing up in my HUD while in the replayer.
I can get it to work by changing the configuration file, but not by just setting 0 in the 'HUD Options' window.

I am not sure why you would have gotten such a message. HMT-1428 is still in our 'backlog' category and will not be able to be worked on and resolved until sometime after HMT-5355: MVS API 1.2 - query_stats callbacks has been resolved which also has a 'backlog' status. I do not have an estimate for when either issue will be resolved. We do not give estimates until it has been confirmed as implemented/resolved by our testers and the release is imminent.

You asked for the wrong number in your support ticket subject/message: T#531834 – Notify Me When HMT-4128 Is Resolved

I will add your email address to HMT-1428 and update your support ticket.

No worries, glad to be able to sort it. It was easy enough for me in this case since I have access to the forum backend and you happened to use the same email address for the forums and your store account.

Hello!

With this 'hack' we see all the hands for the hero when playing in regular tables.
I believe the previous behaviour was to just show the hands played at that table?
Is it possible to have both?
- Replayer: All hero hands
- While playing: Only hands for that session + table

Many thanks!

No, that is not possible. The only way to do that would be to close HM3 and the HM3 server after/before you play live play or review sessions, edit the config file accordingly for True or False, then start HM3 again. When HMT-1428 is eventually fixed properly by the developers it should hopefully behave the way you want (like HM2 behaved).

Hey,
There is an issue with Hero HUD session stats while playing MTT : you stay at the same table and number of hands is moving back to only few hands ie : you have played 40 hands and the hand after your HUD show your stats for the last 5 hands only, 10 hands later you see 25 hands... Sometimes it also happens for opponents, I haven't understood yet what triggers this.
It is quite disturbing and I don t know how to fix it as my HUD seems to be well set.
Tell me if you need screenshots, thx for your help ;)

Did you edit any of the HUD - HUD Options - 'Filters'? Those settings can drastically change what the HUD shows at the table. Do your HUD Options - Filters appear the same as the default ones in the linked image here? If not, change them so they do.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/b0wyk6ei4vb6mwr/hudoptions-defaultfilters2.png?raw=1

If that doesn't fix the issues, please reproduce the problem and attach a screenshot showing the HUD, the Cash Results By Stakes Report (or Tournaments by Buyin report if you don't play cash games) for one of the selected players with the problems, and pictures of the HUD Options Filters and attach your \HM3logs files to a support ticket as explained in this FAQ (https://support.holdemmanager.com/support/faqView/Holdem-Manager-3/194/How-to-send-HM3-log-files-to-support).

If you follow the steps in post #3 of this thread (https://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=540598&p=2505760&viewfull=1#post2505760) you can edit the config file to make it work in the replayer but the live play HUD will also show hero lifetime stats.

hi, i have a problem. i did all the procedure but when i use the replayer it doesn't show me all the hands in the hud, but it changes every time. sometimes 18k hands, other 15k, it always changes but never more than 20k hands and never a fixed value. can you tell me why it doesn't show me all the hands and why it keeps changing value of displayed hands?

It could cause the HUDs and popups to load data slower as it has to pull all of your lifetime data into the HUD. I don't think enabling the 'Everyone but hero' option in the HUD will help reduce possible performance issues. All I can suggest is that you try it and see if you have any issues. You could also just edit the config file as instructed and set that value to 'True' post session when you are using the Replayer for review with lifetime Hero stats then edit it to 'False' before you play live again next time so you get the normal HUD behavior.

Hello,

any idea when this is solved? Solution in post#3 does not work for me, I've tried different databases as well with the same result. I've also tried different HUDs without any success. All I see are a few hands that I've played at that table. In some instances I've got 5 hands on me, in others 80 and something random like that.

Cheers,

I do not have an estimate for when this will be configurable in the user interface/settings. It sounds like you either didn't do the config edit properly or you possibly have some other HUD Filters enabled. If you want to send us your logs/config files (https://support.holdemmanager.com/support/faqView/Holdem-Manager-3/194/How-to-send-HM3-log-files-to-support) we can take a look and see if we can figure out why it is not working for you.

There is still no option in the HM3 user interface to view lifetime hero stats in the replayer but we also moved where it goes in the config file with a 3.1.27.XXXX beta release to prevent the lifetime hero HUD data showing in the HUD on Live tables. You have to exit the HM3 client and Server then open the config file and move (i.e. select and 'Cut' (Ctrl+X) that 'ForceLifeTimeHudStats' line from 'General', go down to 'Replayer' and hit the 'Enter' key for a new line and 'Paste' (Ctrl+V) that line into the 'Replayer' section. Once you do that, save the file, and restart HM3, the lifetime HUD stats will work again in the replayer and you will also be able to see session stats on live tables Instead of lifetime Hero HUD data) so you can know your image on each table without having to edit the Key from True' to 'False'.

Close your poker clients, close HM3 and right-click - 'Exit' the HM3 Server icon in the Windows Notification Tray.

- View your C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0 folder with Windows File Explorer.
- If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5).

Unfortunately, that is no longer possible unless you roll back to version 3.1.27.0 (https://www.holdemmanager.com/download/index.php?product=HM3&channel=Stable&version=3.1.27.0) or older and then use the old config edit method.

Okay thanks for quick replies!

If I could suggest you should add the ability of seeing the stats from longer period at some point. I think there are 2 big advantages to session stats:

1) Those stats are more like the ones the other regs, against whom you play ~daily, will see on their HUD

2) It's easier to spot your own leaks and biases when you see your own HUD stats all the time

I am not sure how I missed this post in the moderation queue but I apologize for the delay in reply.

We moved it from 'General' to 'Replayer' in the config to prevent any unnecessary performance issues on live tables. If you were having performance issues with your own lifetime hero data for a large databasein the replayer HUD, this is unlikely to improve this issues, unfortunately.

I agree on both of those and want to add another reason:

3) The easiest way for me to judge the villains stats is to compare them to my own to see in what way they differ

For other players one can simply change between session stats and not with a right click, it would be perfect if it was the same for hero.

Make sure you have our latest version 3.1.31.0 installed and then open the HM3 - Tools - Settings... - 'Replayer Settings' menu and toggle on the 'Use new replayer (BETA)' option.

Open the HM3 Replayer options with the gear icon in the upper right and make sure the 'Hero Stats' option is set to 'All Hands'.
