I had to do a HDD reinstall and i'm trying to get hem up and running again. I just tried to-install .net 3.5 and it says it can't install because .net 2.0a is not detected I assume that means i need to install 2.0 before i can install 3.5 but i have no idea where to get the correct version of 2.0

At first you need to install XP Svp3 and all other windows updates.

After this .net framework 3.5 should work.

If not please try this:

1) Download and run this uninstaller -
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

might i suggest that you add a .net download link to the hem installer. I think it would make things much easier.

Nice idea but i think Microsoft wouldn't like that.

I honestly didn't know their would be any legal issues involved. You probably don't want to make an enemy of a corporate entity as strong ms though
