My HUD on stars has been crashing, but i usually just reopen and play till it crashed again.
But now I open it and it says that thing in title plus "If you continue panel positions will be written. Do you want to continue?" I click yes and it crashes.

EDIT: I just updated and registered so ill see if that fixes it. probably will

Hi,

Close HM

Can you go here C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config (or the equivalent for your computer)

Delete the "PosPref.txt".

Restart HM. HM will recreate a fresh "PosPref.txt", but you will have to reposition your HUDs.

Works?

This happens to me daily now. The HUD just disappears and then I have to restart HEM. When I close it TM stays up and then when I try to close it I get the error. When restarted I have to move all my panels back to where they go.

The time it takes to close, restart, and realign is COSTING me EVERY day. Not to mention, all of the hands on 16 tables that I am left without stats for that time.

Please advise.

Can you try this version http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.07beta.exe its a known bug but seems to happen to only a few with that version

While we continue to work on it can you check out using save and restore positions which is explained here: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=149

I have 1.07.01 and this is still happening. It's happened the last few builds.

The only time I get it, is when I leave for a while, and come back when my screen saver has been up. If I leave HM and Stars running, it freezes Stars and my hud until I close HEM. then, when I open it and import, I get the error that pos/prefs cannot be found, do I want to create a new one.

My best solution has been not to open up a table if I left HEM and Stars running and my screen saver came on.

Can you try to reinstall HM and tell me if it persist:

1) Make a backup of "Config" in a safe location
2) Export your HUDs via "HUD Options => Player Preferences"
3) Uninstall HM via the Control Panel
4) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
5) Reboot your computer
6) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Upload HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.07beta.exe
8) Test if it works
9) Overwrite the backuped "holdemmanager.config" file in the new Config directory to recover your settings
10) Test if it works
11) Import your HUDs via "HUD Options => Player Preferences"
12) Test if it works

This issue has been around for at least 3 months now and I can confirm that it still happens with the latest 1.07.01... its easy to avoid the bug by closing HM after every session you play.

It occurs on vista 100% of the time when you leave HM open for 24h and then after that time attempt to play again. Then when the table manager looks for the tables it gets the "destructor" and subsequent posprefs message.

My guess would be that whatever the table manager does while its idling / looking for new tables eventually overflows after long periods of time.
