I am using a MacBook Pro 15 inch with Retina display, on windows 8. Is there any way to get HEM1 to work?
HEM1 looks like this when i open it: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/367591-scaling-issue-mac-15-retina-display-running-parallels.html

if i change DPI settings its still the same and also everything else on my computer gets so small that i cant see anything.

Try right-clicking the holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe files, open properties - compatibility and check disable scaling on high DPI settings.

What DPI settings did you use?

i tried all of this settings here its all the same. but even if it worked this way i cant use it because everything else on my screen gets too small. i dont want to make my entire screen small just to use hem1. is there any other way to fix this?

We no longer update or support HM1. We do have a 30-day trial for HM2 that you can use to see if we meet your needs. I know that people are using it with retinas, but they have to experiment with the DPI settings on it.

well the biggest problem is that it is super slow

What is your hard drive model, RAM and CPU? You can find this in your Control Panel - System - Device Manager. Sometimes lower spec PC's can contribute to lagging but that is not to say we can't still improve it further.

Does it help if you try disabling Note Caddy? Open HUD Settings, make sure you are on the HUD Designer tab, and uncheck "Show Caddy notes in HUD." Restart HM2.

In the meantime while you reply with those details I have a couple of things you can try that will improve the performance of your PC in general

Please check these 2 FAQs and try all the steps there to see if they help:
- http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1011/Software+Security+Problems+%28Firewall%29 - Resolves issues where security software continually try to scan files and processes which can slow down your PC
- http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/3231/Fix+Holdem+Manager+2+Lagging+%28Reports+%26+HUD%29 - General tips and solutions for performance issues

A few other things you could try to see if it helps when playing:
- Does it help you disable the Options > Settings > General Settings > Miscellaneous > [ ] 'Automatically Refresh' option and restart HM2?
- Try leaving HM2 on the 'Home' tab when playing.
- Try picking a villain in the reports that only has a few hands in your database instead of your hero and restart HM2.
- Try creating a new smaller database with just hands from the past 1 or 2 months to use when playing - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/3091/How+to+create+a+new+database+and+import+previously +played+hands

If you continue to have problems, please reproduce the problem, describe exactly what you were doing, and attach your new \HM2logs folder -

All your friends are running HM2 on macbooks using parallels or some such? Is that what you're saying?

My experience of HM2 is the HUD stats are more responsive than in HM1 - I have used the same Windows PC for both HM1 & HM2. The exception for me was HM1 worked better than HM2 on a Windows laptop I had, but I didn't have enough memory for the programs I had running on that laptop & I quickly solved that problem.

Also - have you followed Fozzy71's instructions? If those didn't work then send the log files & email to HM2 support as per the instructions in Fozzy71's post above

look i changed about 3-4 laptops since hem2 was released and its the same on all of them. only this last one is macbook(with windows installed) and all were quite expensive(+1.5$k). hud works fine, but when i review hands and change some filters then i need to first wait few sec for all hands to load(only have around 500k in database), then when all hands are loaded i need to wait another 5-10sec for new stats to actually appear in hem(or new graph). it was the same on all my laptops and on all of my friends laptops.
