I have used HM for a long time but just now I cannot seem to get it running. When I open the program the database control panel pops up and says "connection to postgresql cannot be made. would you like to have HM attempt to start the service?" So I click on yes and it says HM has started the service try again. So I try again and the same thing happens. My server name, port number, login name, and password are all typed in correctly. I am sure of this since I wrote down all of the information when I first made the database.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I had a similar problem with my new anti-virus (F-Secure) and had to manually allow the port to be opened.

You can also help yourself by going to control panel, administrative tools, services and restarting the postsgl whatever it is called and it should work

I found an article in the FAQ's that said to delete the postmaster.pid file and that did the trick for me. All fixed, thanks
