View Full Version : No hole cards for 888?

My hole cards are missing from most hands in the Reports tab. See image below. They seem to be missing for hands that don't get to showdown. Looking at the 888 hand history files, it looks like 888 only records you hole cards if you get to showdown. How incredibly annoying!

In the images below, the two highlighted hands in the HEM report correspond to the two hand history text from 888 below that. Note for the first hand, you can see Kd 7d in both images, but the other hand has no hole cards in either image.

Anybody using 888 having or not having this problem? Any way to fix this?

That's a very juicy looking burger!

Read the last Netsrak post here:- 888 poker hud not starting | Hold'em and Omaha Manager | PokerStrategy.com Forum (http://www.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=324855)

Reinstalling 888 in EXACTLY the way described by Netsrak may solve your problem. Make sure to use Revo uninstaller as he suggests in the post.

Thanks. But actually, it's a different issue than described in that link. I think the problem is just that 888's hand history format sucks and doesn't always record the hole cards.

Just want to know if anyone has had this problem, or knows how to change it.

I've read a couple of threads about this problem:- Hole cards are only written in HHs that go to showdown
In the link I supplied Netsrak suggests this is not a policy by 888/pacific, but a bug that can be fixed by reinstall of the poker client [sometimes repeated reinstalls required]

I don't play there so I can't comment from experience, BUT Patrick agrees with Netsrak:-
888 no holecards: This is a 888 poker bug where the client fails to write the hole cards.
To fix this reinstall the 888 poker client. You may have to reinstall it a couple of times, before it will suddenly work again. (please try uninstalling and re-installing twice)... http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/526359-hm2-begginer.html

Netsrak & Patrick are both official support staff for HM2

It looks like you are having a problem we have seen reported a few times recently. The pacific/888 client fails to write the hole cards for some/most of your hands so then it doesn't recognize you as the hero.

Please see this FAQ to alleviate any security bottlenecks - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/2561/Set+Correct+Permissions+on+files+and+folders+HM2+u se

If you continue to have problems, try changing the path in the 888 client where it writes hands to a new folder such as C:\888hands - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/711/Pacific+%28888%29+Poker

If that doesn't help please disable any antivirus/firewalls, reinstall the software and choose English language during installation if prompted. If that doesn't solve it for some reason please reinstall it again as instructed but make sure you install the poker client to a different drive/partition as one of the customers said it was having problems only when installed to the default path on his C drive and once he installed it to a custom path on his other D drive it worked fine.

Try downloading from this link - Poker Download | Download Pacific Poker & get FREE bonus (http://www.pacificpoker.com/en/download_short.htm)

You may have to reinstall the software 3 or 4 times before it starts saving the hands properly with all the holecards.

If none of that helps you will need to ask the pacific support team why their software is not saving the hole cards for all of your hands you play.

Hey guys, I can't thank you enough! It's working now.

I followed the instructions in the link from Loki's post, and fozzy's security bottleneck post. After reinstalling about 5 times, it worked. I think the thing I did different on the last install was putting it on a separate drive, and perhaps more permissions on more folders.

If it helps I had the same problem, tried to contact 888 but got about as much sense as I would from a retarded donkey, anyway because of another problem I had to reinstall windows and when I got everything back again 888 was recording my hole cards ok.
