If I set up my postgres database on a dedicated server, would I notice any lag? I can connect through ssh correct?

If I use a home-network server instead, is there any noticeable lag / is it faster? For Zoom/Rush tables the db needs to be queried and has to respond kinda quickly I imagine.

Thanks.

Please make sure you follow our FAQ if you do this. I am not sure about accessing away from home, I don't know anyone who has tried it, or what speed changes you might see.

Thanks the linking to the FAQs, I'm aware of them.

Do you know how I find someone that has experience with this? I want to run either an online or a home database server for more than 1 PC, just afraid it might be too laggy (popup takes a second to load, would be unbearable).

I'm currently using a separate Linux as database server, I will post my experience after I got home. I'm sure this is important for both tech staff and users.
