postgresql installation error

Hey,

I installed windows vista today (disabled UAC) and wanted to reinstall HEM again.
First up: SQL

everything went fine till i got to step 8 of the guide (http://www.holdemmanager.net/PostgreSQL_Install_Help.html).
The options i get are these

when i try to fill it in like it is in the guide, like this

i get the following error at the end of the installation progress:

when i check the logs it says (it's in dutch, so i'll try to translate): "The application cant be started because the configuration next to eachother is wrong. Check eventlog for more information".

no idea where to find this eventlog tho.
The defaults on the next 2 screens are only the first checkboxes marked.

I hope i gave sufficient information

Your settings are fine, i need to update the FAQ thanks for reminding me, can you change the name from postgres to holdemmanager and see if there is a difference

new error with new superuser name

"failed to create temporary directory"

gonna screw around a bit with settings before i go to bed, i might get lucky before i read this topic again

didnt work

i also tried adding an attachement that allowed me to run a .msi file as admin http://www.symantec.com/community/download/1382/msi-run-as-administrator-context-menu-for-vista

installing in a different folder/partition gave me the original error again
standard folder (after changing superuser to "holdemmanager") only gave me the "unable to create temporary directory" error

found a .exe for the sql8.3, downloading, gonna try that, i'll keep u posted

Theres a beta postgreSQL version that might help there http://developer.pgadmin.org/~dpage/postgresql-8.3-vista-fixes.zip

Other than that i havent seen this type of thing so you might get a better response on the PostgreSQL forums

k, apparently i'm an idiot

i checked that msg board, made me check if there was already a temp folder made, deleted it and it worked

but, for further notice, it only worked when i changed superuser to holdemmanager (or something else might also work i guess)
