My new Desktop should be arriving soon. I am terrible with computers and would like some detailed help on transferring my database from the old desktop to new desktop. I plan on using an ethernet cable to connect the 2 computers together, but I am not sure what files I need to transfer? I want of all my stats/opponent stats/and hud layout.

I am assuming I need to do something with the "serial #" in the faq idk, where you refresh it and get a new one?

WIll I also need to do a fresh download of HEM and postgres on new pc?

In which order should I do these 3 different things. I am very bad with computers so as much detail/step by step you could provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If you’re doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.
You have to install HM and Postgres on 2nd PC.
We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/418/Backup+%26+Restore
This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:
Export and Import your Hand Histories and/or backup and restore your database

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup+%26+Restore+Database
Export Your Notes

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback – Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg
Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

See this FAQ http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/26/Registration+Benefits on how to reset your code

ok so i just got my new pc and decided to just start a new database to avoid all the above. i just installed hem/postgres and got the same darn error message as last time saying "could not install postgressql", installation aborted. I had this issue last time and it was solved quickly with a team viewer. can i get a team viewer set up asap to get this running, i need to be up and running by tomorrow. thanks

well a little update. i tried opening holdem manager and it worked. registered pc#2, it was importing hh's from the wrong folders so i got that corrected for ps and ftp. have my hero names set up and hud layout fixed. im importing hands just fine from both ps and ftp. it seems to be running just fine over a very small ring game test sample.

my only concern is if i may have issues down the road or all of a sudden have a problem when im 15 tabling during my first session. since i got the error message "postgres could not be installed" how could it be working fine? any suggestions on what to do now? have not heard back from support but maybe there is something still wrong they could fix through team viewer?

thanks

If you can start HoldemManager--> import hands--> and the HUD shows up--> it means your PostgreSQL server is running.
(so you can ignore the initial PostgreSQL error you had)
