View Full Version : Custom Stats: Deciding between HM2 and PT4

Hi there,

My question is about how to make custom stats.
I am a HU player/coach currently using HM2+Notecaddy, and am more familiar with HM2 over PT4.
This week, I am deciding between which tracking software to use long term, based on ease of use for the creation of a custom hud.
If I choose HM2, it will mean buying additional Notecaddy addons.
If I choose PT4, I will purchase HE+Omaha and convert my databases.
I am crossposting on both forums and hoping to see what help I can get.

As a test, I would like to compare how easy it is for each software suite (PT4, or HM2+NoteCaddy) to do the following:
As far as I know, these example stats do not exist and the closest commercially available package is Coffeehud (for both PT4 and Notecaddy), but has limited stats for limped and limp-called pots.

1. Define a stat: "Limp-Call vs Non All-In Raise", as, roughly:
In all the spots where SB has limped and faced a non-allin raise of less than 7x from the BB:
"(count_SB_call / count_SB_faced_non_allin_raise)*100"

Define a stat: folds to cbet on dry board, when a flop is seen with the above preflop action.
Define a stat: folds to cbet on wet board, when a flop is seen with the above preflop action.

2. Define an automatic note (AutoNote in PT4, Cyborg Note in NoteCaddy) that lists all the hands that went to showdown, where SB limp-called.

These notes/autonotes should work specifically for HU tables, and will not need to take into account inverted blind heads-up situations (as encountered in ring tables, where small blind could limp-call and check-fold to a cbet).

Notecaddy composite stats: has "SB limp-call HU" but does not distinguish between shoves and non-allin raises. I don't know how to define stats from the "ground up" just basics with composite stats.

I am posting here because NoteCaddy seems to have the most advanced capability for custom stats. HM2 standalone appears limited.

Thanks!

1. You just need to use action sequences. There are options for positions, raise size in bb, and an option to ensure it's not all-in: Filtering player actions - Assaultware Wiki (http://wiki.assaultware.com/Filtering-player-actions.ashx) There is a tutorial video that shows how to use action sequences though not for this exact definition https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5d7MwKAPxKk.

It does show a cbet definition so that should help with the second question. Here is a tutorial video for defining board textures NoteCaddy flop-general (http://www.assaultware.com/videos/flop-general/flop-general.html)

2. That's not a cyborg note. It's a regular note where you will use an action sequence for the preflop call and the $cardrange variable NoteCaddy Variables - Assaultware Wiki (http://wiki.assaultware.com/NoteCaddy-Variables.ashx)

Also check out this webinar that shows the creation of the fold to cbet stats on different board types as well as other features unique to NoteCaddy http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/33136/
