I just followed the directions in the FAQ on how to do a manual vacuum since I've been datamining quite often the last 3 weeks or so.

All of a sudden, the "base" and "pg_log" folders are abnormally high.

PostgreSQL --> 8.2 ---> data ---> "base" (50.5Gig) and pg_log (28.6Gig)

Um...help? Not sure why all of a sudden those two folders are stupid big. FWIW, I was about to update to the latest version of HEM, hence the vacuum prior. Currently using 1.06.03b.

So if you guys can tell me either where I went wrong or what files I can get rid of to get it to a more managable size, I'd appreciate it!

TIA

you can delete the pg_log files. The base files are important so dont delete them

Ok done, thanks...

One more question then. That folder (base) is still pretty huge (50.5Gig) and is only going to keep getting bigger, right? Is there a way to contain it a bit so that I don't have to replace the HDD it's on?

I'll hang up and listen, thanks!

And Vacuum after youve done the purges:
