Hey,

I did some dumb "cleaning up" on the computer today(windows registry too) and now it seems like I can't conncet to my HM-database. I get this error message when I try and connect:

Any help/advice? I'm thinking about making a windows recovery, but if I can avoid it...

Can you reinstall postgreSQL.

I'm having problems with PT3 too, I think I've messed up the computer after my "cleaning"! :D

Hi dosent look good, can yout try doing a system restore to before doing the registry changes as if youve changed something important in their you probably wont be able to fix it via reinstalling

If that dosent work id reinstall everything including firewalls, spywares, PT, HM, .net framework, PostgreSQL and only start reinstalling when all are uninstalled and then hopefully it will recreate the registry file you damaged when reinstalling, also consider trying an alternative version of postgreSQL and if it gives errors installing then post them

Hey everyone,

I did a windows system restore and the computer is working alright again. But I'm getting this error message sometimes when I try and run HEM:

"The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Connection establishment timeout. Increase Timeout value in ConnectionString."

This doesn't happened all the time, every once in a while. I've tried re-install postgres but that didn't help. Any tips?

One important thing that I realized now that I haven't mentioned, is that I installed BitDefender the day when the problems started. And I used some of BD's futures to clean up the computer, which initially started all these problems.

Anyways, I guess it's possible that it's some function in BD that randomly closes down the connection to the database. So I think I'm going to try and re-install everything, the framwork, HEM and Postgres. Is that a good idea?

Are you running 1.07.01 beta 1, if not please update and please add all the hm.exe files to any new antivirus or firewall programs youve installed.
