I just purchased Hold Em Manager, but can't get it to start at all.
I already had a trial version on my computer, which expired some weeks ago.

Now I can't see any way to put my new code into the software, to register it.
It just says "a valid license could not be obtained", when I try to load it, and I got no clue what to do.

Do I just need to deinstall HEM and reinstall from scratch?
I have WINDOWS XP.

I logged onto my account and it says my new license is active and already uploaded there.

OK. I deinstalled and installed HEM again and I still can't register.
I don't see anything else I can do

Please update to the latest beta – http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights:
1) Go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)
2) Right click the HoldemManager.exe and choose “Properties”.
3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select “Run this program as an Administrator”. If the option is greyed out then this is because you’ve UAC disabled, in which case enable UAC Disable User Account Control (UAC) the Easy Way on Win 7 or Vista - How-To Geek (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/) and reboot the PC then do step 3 and then you can disable UAC again if you like.
4) Do the same for HMHud.exe and DBControlPanel.exe and hmimport.exe

Next, Enable the option to see Hidden Files and Disable “Hide protected operating system files”: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html) - It should look like this: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg

Delete C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\holdemmanager.exe.ldat (It will be in Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)

Now Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

If that doesn’t work please try this:

1. Create a new text document in C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder by right clicking inside the folder on a blank space, choose New from the popup Menu and then choose text document and name it LicDebug with a capital L and D
2. Open HM and register
3. Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file if it fixes the issue or not

Check Proxy settings
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/24/I+Can%27t+Activate+%26+Register+Holdem+Manager- I Can’t Activate & Register Holdem Manager (check the proxy settings)

Uninstall and Reinstall Holdem Manager
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+ - Using Revo Uninstaller (uninstall HM with Revo FREE and reinstall it)

if that doesn’t fix it Please email me the reg.log file from C:/Program Files/RVGSoftware/HoldemManager/log folder after you’ve tried all those steps, if you were unable to complete any step please let me know. email: support@holdemmanager.com

I cannot give "HoldemManager Administrator rights."
There is no option “Run this program as an Administrator” under properties tab for any exe files.
I have completed all the other steps.

First of all, we need to enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
Problems Registering Holdem Manager:

Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

This is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just a regular hidden file)

Also please try this:

1. Update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe
2. Create a new text document in the Config folder and name it LicDebug
3. Open HM and register
4. Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file

OK thanks. I've registered it now.
I can't connect to PostGreSQL though now and have forgotten what settings to type in for that.
