Hello,

Is it possible to run HM 1 and HM 2 on the same pc?

Yes you can run both on the same PC.
You can also run both simultaneously.

Run HM2--> Settings--> General Settings--> turn on 'allow to run simultaneously with HM1'.

Close HM2.

Then run HM1. If HM1 is open. Run HM2.
And they'll both run at the same time.

What happens to my DB if I import the HM1 database into HM2?

I would like to use my current HM1 database with both HM1 and HM2. Is this possible?

Yes.

Import the hands in both, but disable archiving in HM1.

You can manually import from c:\hm2archive after sessions as well.

I don't understand the answer. Why should I import the hands in both while I use the same DB. Both programs should be able to use the same DB so a double import or manual import shouldn't be necessarry?

@ Patvs, can I run both huds at the same time?

HM1 and HM2 both use their own separate database.

Running both HUDs at the same time should be possible*, but would require a lot of CPU power / harddisk activity.
*make sure both HM1 and HM2 have access to the handhistory files in the auto import folders.

That's why udbrky suggested to turn off archiving for HM1, otherwise: HM1 will import the hands--> move the hands to the HM1 archive folder. Then HM2 is unable to import the hands from the auto import folder.

Alternatively you could add the HM2 archive folder, as an auto import folder in HM1.

Tried to import my HM1 DB into HM2 (+/- 4,5 million hands), however, windows update ran when I was gone and rebooted my laptop.

Now I see that HM2 tries to resume the import (+/- 3,9 million hands to import). But it goes terribly slow....

What is the impact of this abrupt ending? Does this affect my HM1 database? If not, I think it is best to create a new DB and start the import again right?

Not sure if the import resumes ok or not. I see the DB size growing with several MB's a minute, however, the progress status bar goes with like 1 hand/5 minutes ?? (showing 0,0 h/s)

Hmm. I found the hand importing options. Looks like the previous import stopped at approximately 1,1 million hands. At the moment he is going through the database and skipping al those hands. I think it will get up to speed and resumes importing when it reaches the next record.

However, strange thing that in the status bar below in the interface now +/- 4 million hands are shown (importing 5 of 3993872). What happened to the other 500k?

The database may have been damaged when windows restarted unexpectedly. I would create a new database in HM2 and start over and change the windows update option to notify you before installing updates to make sure this doesn't happen again.
