I'm trying to make a video of a session review for a student of mine. To do this, I would like to review his session using the playback feature of HEM, but I can't seem to get it to work. The export file he sent me looks like this:
***** Hand History for Game 2266490637 *****
$2000.00 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Friday, November 14, 12:07:56 ET 2008
Table Hortensius (Real Money)
Seat 1 is the button
Seat 1: kaby ( $2010.00 USD )
Seat 2: xxxxx ( $2020.00 USD )
kaby posts small blind [$10.00 USD].
xxxxx posts big blind [$20.00 USD].
Dealt to kaby [ Qc Kc ]
kaby raises [$50.00 USD]
xxxxx folds
kaby wins $80.00 USD from main pot
and when I import the hands it doesn't detect his hole cards somehow. It only considers hole cards known if they went to showdown. I suggested his sending me the .dat file for the hands he played (on prima), but this didn't work either because HEM does something with processed HH files or something.
Why does the import not work?

Can you try to create a new DB and import hands, then export.

Ok, this REALLY doesn't make sense. The exported hand history file includes the hands dealt to Kaby.
for example:
***** Hand History for Game 2266505013 *****
$2000.00 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Friday, November 14, 12:18:00 ET 2008
Table Hortensius (Real Money)
Seat 1 is the button
Seat 1: kaby ( $3471.00 USD )
Seat 2: mrdawwe ( $1920.00 USD )
kaby posts small blind [$10.00 USD].
mrdawwe posts big blind [$20.00 USD].
Dealt to kaby [ 7c Qh ]
kaby raises [$50.00 USD]
mrdawwe calls [$40.00 USD]
** Dealing Flop ** [ 3h, 9s, Td ]
mrdawwe checks
kaby bets [$90.00 USD]
mrdawwe calls [$90.00 USD]
** Dealing Turn ** [ 8d ]
mrdawwe checks
kaby bets [$201.00 USD]
mrdawwe folds
kaby wins $500.00 USD from main pot
Is a hand from the database export file, but then:

Why does the import not work?
How did he export the hand? It is missing a ** Dealing down cards ** right before the Dealt To which is why HM is ignoring it. The export function just saves the original hand history which is why it still shows up there.
This works:
***** Hand History for Game 2266505013 *****
$2000.00 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Friday, November 14, 12:18:00 ET 2008
Table Hortensius (Real Money)

Let me know how he is exporting - if it is from another program then I'll have to fix this but I haven't seen this so let me know

he said:
i just exported by using 'show all hand histories'
copy pasting them all into a .txt file
and shipping them to you
--If there's a better way that will work, what is it?
