You didn't post the complete error message?
I guess its about a file named holdemmanager.config.

Please delete the file which is located in the config subfolder of your holdemmanager installation path (something like c:\program files(X86)\rvg software\holdemmanager).
Restart HM and the file will be created again.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Make sure windows is fully updated and change your Windows Control Panel > Regional Settings Format to English (USA).

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files.
2) Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily (http://www.revouninstaller.com) using the Deep setting. You do not need to uninstall PostgreSQL.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe. You should un-check the PostgreSQL Option when running the combo installer.
6) Test if it for a while and see if it works

Hi

I got the same message today when trying to start HEM, " damaged or not readable"..
I shut down the PC , then I started it again and the PC automatically ran a consistence check with CHDSK (or something like that it said), during this check it deleted ca. 3 indexes, restored some abandoned/orphaned archives.....
now HEM works again which is obv good but Im still worried -

do you have an explanation for this?? ..

perhaps was or still is there a problem on my pc?

any help appreciated, thank you very much!

It would be caused by some bad clusters on your harddisk.
Worst case scenario is a failing harddisk (somewhat unlikely),... more likely is just a corrupt file causing problems.

If the corrupt file is a critical Windows file, Windows could start crashing--> reinstall Windows.
If the file was part of your PostgreSQL database, HoldemManager will start to act weird--> create a NEW empty database and reimport your hands.
