Hello,

I have a problem with HEM after a Windows 8.1 update. I followed the instructions in other threads (especially this one: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/419741-hm-cant-validate-license-after-upgrading-win8-1-a.html; the thread is mostly about HEM 2, though, not sure it matters), created a temporary user, made a HEM re-install, but while HEM now WORKS under the temporary user, it doesn't work when I log in with my main user, as it's instructed.

I keep getting an error message that access to HoldemManager.Config is denied. (see attachments)

How to solve this?

Thanks.
Regards,
Sporty

Please give HoldemManager Administrator rights -

1) Go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)
2) Right-click the HoldemManager.exe and choose "Properties".
3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an Administrator".
4) Do the same for HMImport.exe, HMHud.exe and DBControlPanel.exe

Make sure the C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager folder has full read/write permissions as explained in this HM2 FAQ (http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/2561/Set+Correct+Permissions+on+files+and+folders+HM2+u se).

1. Shutdown Hold'em Manager and update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.13.02_10Oct2013.exe
2. Navigate to your RVG Software/Holdem Manager/Config folder
3. Create a new text document in the Config folder and name it LicDebug (attached to this post for your convenience)
4. Restart Hold'em Manager

You should hopefully be able to enter your code now. Once you have done this close Hold'em Manager, delete the LicDebug file and restart Hold'em Manager.

If you continue to have registration issues, please send your new Reg.log file from the C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Logs folder. If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'reg'.
