I followed this guide to back up my database

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup+%26+Restore+Database

But when i got to the last step , and i have to choose the database and click OK i can't because the button is gray and can't click on it.

When i made the database i had postgres 9.2 , so i thought i should install back 9.2 instead of 8.4 which hm used. I did that but i still have the same problem.

How big is the backup file? Can you upload and send it to us for testing? Please upload it to a file hosting site like dropbox or filedropper and send us the download link. Please email the download link, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to support@holdemmanager.com

I just took a look at that pic again and realized you are using PSQL 9.2. Was the original database/backup created using 9.2? You have to restore to the same major version. If your original database was created using 8.4.x (standard with HM1) then you should install 8.4.x to insure you have the best chance of restoring it properly.

p.s. I saw your thread on 2+2 about HM1 vs PT4. Have you tried HM2 recently? You get a 39.7% discount for upgrading. HM1 end of life for support is rapidly approaching so you might want to give it another try if you haven't used it recently.

If you need an extended 30 day trial of HM2 to test it again before you decide if you want to upgrade please email your details/questions to sales@holdemmanager.com

We also have a limited time refund policy.

Did you upload it and send it to us for testing? We need to see if we can duplicate the problem to try and figure out what is causing the problems or at least see a log file from your failed restore attempt.

Yes i did.

I got this reply 3 days ago.

"Hi, my name is Chris.

I want to let you know that your bug has been received and will be tested in the order it was received. Once we have tested and documented it thoroughly we will send you our results and/or ask for any other info/files that we may need to help resolve it."

Due to a release we are in the middle of and holidays, extra testing is a little behind currently.

One of your colleagues managed to restore my database. When i didn't have this database i created another and played some hands , and i would like to add those to the old one.
I thought i have to manually import the files from the HM archive folder , but it seems it doesn't work , even if the import progress bar shows that it imports them.

Export the hands (http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1461/How+are+Hands+Exported%3F) from the database manager (http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/5/Database+Manager+%28Ribbon%29).

Import the hands manually to the restored database and make sure you [x] Force Import when importing them - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/81/Options+%7B47%7D+Hand+Importing+%7B47%7D+Manual+Ha nd+Importing

I am sorry about that, I didn't realize I was in the HM1 forum. All of this is explained in our HM1 FAQs which are linked in the forum header under Support.
