Hi i have recently returned to poker after a spell away
i have a new computer and decided to use hem 1 again, i have downloaded what appears to be the latest version and used my old passkeys, also i have followed the guidelines in the forums and changed windows 8 settings to allow hand histories to be found, but since i have done this hem says i am already logged in when trying to open it, any ideas why this would be ????
Thanks

Does this message also come up after rebooting the computer?

And you should update to our latest Beta: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/releases/373771-latest-internal-beta-hm1-update.html

If you are reinstalling you need to make sure you are using the full Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe file from our downloads page and not the update patch which only has updated files and not all files necessary to run the program.

If none of that helps, I would suggest a clean reinstall:

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/99/Reinstalling+HEM+without+Losing+Preferences+

1) Export any custom HUD configs individually, make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files. If you have custom filters/reports/stats, just copy the entire \holdem manager folder before uninstalling.
2) Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily, Forced Uninstall, Leftovers Uninstaller (http://www.revouninstaller.com) using the Deep setting. You do not need to uninstall PostgreSQL.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, remove any registry entries and leftover files. If you have Holdem Manager 2 installed do not delete any folders in C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager. If Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\HoldemManager.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe. You should un-check the PostgreSQL Option when running the combo installer. Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.13.02_10Oct2013.exe
6) Test if it for a while and see if it works

This means some of the holdem manager processes are still running in the task manager. Reboot your computer and then install the update patch - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.13.02_10Oct2013.exe

It sounds like a permissions issue. Win 8 is notorious for not giving full access to a variety of folders.

Make sure that the \rvg software folder is not set to 'read only' permissions. Use this HM2 FAQ as a guide - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/2561/Set+Correct+Permissions+on+files+and+folders+HM2+u se

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\

This is a hidden system folder. Enable first to be able to see both 'hidden files' and 'system files'.

I am sorry. If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/130/How+to+See+Hidden+Files+in+Windows+

I will add that FAQ to my to-do list so I can add that note to the top of that faq.
