Trying to install postgresql on my new pc is casuing problems, it just keeps saying it can not install, can we please arrange a TV session or mikogo to sort this please?

Postgresql is already running, then it closes.

Please install Microsoft.net 3.5

Download Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 from Official Microsoft Download Center (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22)

In Vista, 7 and 8, this is done in Control Panel - Programs - Turn on/off windows features.

Turn it off, then restart and turn it back on.

Make sure you see the FAQ Pat linked and add blitz.dll to the firewall and antivirus exceptions lists. Also, run all the programs as administrator.

tried this, but it's still not working, the hands are importing though which is good!

how do i add those files to the allowd list, the blitz one?

Bumping threads puts it at the end of the line, since we answer from oldest.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Holdem Manager 2\stars.dll, starsinject.dll, and starsinject2.dll files (for the dll files, you have to type in the name in the file name box for a lot of firewalls)

Please update to this version:

Did you install .net 3.5 as well? What is your antivirus and firewall?

anti vurus and firewall are just standard window afaik - ye i d/ microsoftnet 3.5 - not sure if its worked though.

screenshots of problems with installing postgresql, ive tried to uninstall then reinstall but it seems like it won't ever actually uninstall...

Install PostgreSQL 8.2 to port 5433: http://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/binary/v8.2.22/win32/postgresql-8.2.22-1.zip

Still not working. If I buy HEM2, will you promise to do a tv session to sort it out if it doesn't work because I can't sort HEM1 ?

Install the standalone from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org) and install on port 5433.

If it still does not work, perform these steps and email the response to support@holdemmanager.com with a link to this thread.

Is this an error with the PostgresQL 8.2 installer?

In Windows services: (control panel > administrative tools > services)
-is the secondary logon turned on
-are you able to turn on/off the windows firewall service.

does HEM2 demo not save progress, signed in today and had to reconnect to postgre manually after it couldnt connect to 5432, and now its made a new datatbase?

Ok so now its opening up but freezing everytime i go into 'reports' and for some reason only has 2 hands played... i played about 1000 yday whe nit worked fine.

The HM2 trial has no limitations over the full version.


Do you now have two different versions of PostgreSQL installed, both on a separate port?


Completely uninstall AVG.

This will be the death of me jesus christ.

Now it just keeps freezing and when I try to click it I cant and it just makes a ting noise like windows does when you can't click something. The only way to sort it is to restart pc over and over again. HuD works a bit then just decides to stop...


please can we arrange a TV session, ideally to get HEM1 working, pleeeease i'm at my wits ends here and been trying to sort it since 2 weeks ago.

Do you have AVG installed?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Many of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, Zonealarm, Avira, Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work well with Holdem Manager.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
2) Reboot your computer
3) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel, turn off Windows Defender, and add firewall exceptions for HM and SQL - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1011/Software+Security+Problems+%28Firewall%29
5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus/malware protection and update it - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows (http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/)
