Today I started getting the "Failed to establish a conection to '127.0.01' error. I am using Windows 7 with Comodo Internet Security and AVG (neither of these have caused any problem in the past).

I have tried all of the following methods to fix the problem in combination with each other:

1) Windows User Account is off
2) Holdem Manager and Postgres have been added to the list of trusted programs in Comodo
3) Uninstall and Reinstall Postgres as per the HEM FAQ.

Nothing has changed. Is the next option to uninstall both HEM and Postgres and then install them both with the Combo Installer?

try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely.
Try uninstalling Comodo completely.

You don't have to uninstall HoldemManager, this is a PostgreSQL-only issue.

I have no postmaster.pid file.

I've tried stopping and starting the service. After it looks like it's loading I get an error that says it didn't start.

Install PostgreSQL 8.2 to port 5433: http://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/binary/v8.2.22/win32/postgresql-8.2.22-1.zip
