Hello,

I used AVG PC TuneUp (erase history, clean temp files, optimize memory, optimize internet etc.) first time after installing HEM/Postgres and it seems that messed up everything. On starting HEM, I wouldn't connect to postgres and rebooting didn't solve the error either. I had to uninstall and reinstall everything and make a new database etc.

Now I am afraid to use AVG PC TuneUp anymore. I remember while the scan/cleaning up was going on, AVG spent a lot of time on processing some files in the postgres folder, and I was suspicious right from that time that it was deleting some files in there and might screw up my database etc.

Any advice on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Don't use AVG Tuneup if it will edit/delete files in the PostgreSQL folder.
(you can't add the postgresql folder to its exceptions list it doesn't need to scan?)

Also make sure the Tuneup tool doesn't mess up your hosts file.
Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts which stores your SQL server information.
(and some programs.. like spybot search & destroy will add information to that file, screwing the SQL connection)

Thanks a lot.

Actually, I can't figure out many postgres files in the scan which I can add to its ignore list, so I will not use AVG PC Tuneup anymore, to be on the safe side.
