Hello,

I have recently formatted my HDD as it had crashed and I made the mistake to save all the hand history txt files from the HMarchive folder and not the postgresql and HoldemManager folders from the Program Files main folder. I also saved the postgresql folder from the users/local settings (or sth) subfolder. I don't care so much about the profiles, settings, import folders, player aliases etc I may have lost, I can rebuild those pretty easily. My main concern is the tournament results corrections I had made, because in most poker rooms, the results where interpreted by Holdem Manager in such a way that field sizes, finish position, even buy-in amounts where totally incorrect. Is there any chance I may have saved the data the way I was correcting them after each session, so that I can retrieve my exact results without having to do the same procedure again? What kind of files should I be looking for after or before I reinstall HEM and PostgreSQL in the formatted HDD?

Thank you in advance.

P.S.: Is there a chance you can fix this bug, i.e. iPoker platform 18-seats SnG are often seen by HEM as smaller field tournaments, IPN network MTTs always have a buy-in of $11 etc.

HM1 databases do not store any information in the \users directory. HM2 does but that information is useless without the \postgresql\data folder from the \program files directory.

If you didn't create a backup of the database and/or export all the tournament results manually before you reformatted the drive there is nothing you can do to recover this information.

This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created).

For future reference:

We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/418/Backup+%26+Restore

For manual/secondary backups in case you have problems restoring a backup file:

Export your Hand Histories
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands

Export Your Notes
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/notes-02.jpg

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback ' Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg

Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/tourney-data-view-01.jpg

Then can you create a new database http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database

Finally reimport all your hands/notes/summaries into the new database

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere.

The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).

P.S.: Is there a chance you can fix this bug, i.e. iPoker platform 18-seats SnG are often seen by HEM as smaller field tournaments, IPN network MTTs always have a buy-in of $11 etc.

Most sites do not write the tournament results information in the hand history files if there is more than 1 table. When there are more than 1 table and they don't write the information in the hand history file we need them to write a separate summary file.

After you install HM1 please update to the latest version and try importing the hands to a new database - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.13.02_05Aug2013.exe

I just had a HM2 forum post earlier where the customer corrected me and told me that his HM2 IPoker MTT results were usually correct so I think they might write the results to the hand history files for MTTs and MTT-SNGs.

I will issue you a 30 day trial of HM2 so you can see if it gives you more accurate tourney results. I have issued you a 30 day trial extension code. You will receive the code in a separate email. Please activate the software using the code in the email ASAP as it goes into effect immediately.

Thank you a lot for all this! Do I need to uninstall HM1 in order to make the HM2 trial?

No you don't have to uninstall HM1.

HM1 and HM2 are completely separate programs, also each using their own database.

I will respond to HEM2 trial I took advantage of, as well as many other issues I have in general concerning both HEM1&2 in a new thread right away, because it will be irrelevant to the current thread.
