hi every one ;-)

I just bought a new computer (that runs with Windows 8) and installed HM1. I already had HM1 on my previous computer with a key license. When I try to run HM1 on my new computer I am told to contact HM because the license is not valid!

Can someone help me? Thx :)

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Update HM1 to: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.13.02_05Aug2013.exe

Reset your license:
we have launched a new online form for resetting your own serial codes.

This can be used to clear a code so that it can be used on a different pc or clear a code if your hardware profile changes and it doesn't allow you to continue.

Please go to Hold'em Manager Poker Software - Best Poker Tracking Software (http://www.holdemmanager.com) and signup with a new login name and password or use your existing account. After that, simply navigate to "Upload License Code" and you can quickly add your serial code and reset it whenever you need to.

Thank you for your answer...

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

I guess this is the Windows Firewall and I have a 60 days trying version of Norton Internet Security.

I have W8 and tried to run HM as administrator but the problem still remain.

My windows firewall runs with Norton Internet Security but I don't find where to add exceptions :(

Windows has been updated yesterday and as my computer is brand new, I have a new video card.

Any other idea to help me?

1) Enable the option to see Hidden Files and Disable "Hide protected operating system files": http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/130/How+to+See+Hidden+Files+in+Windows+ - It should look like this: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
2) Delete C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\holdemmanager.exe.ldat (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)
3) Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)
4) Reset your profile on Hold'em Manager Poker Software - Best Poker Tracking Software (http://www.holdemmanager.com) *
5) Update to the latest beta - http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe

If you can't find those files, DO NOT delete any other files with similar names. If the ldat file does not exist, it is because you did not install in the time when this file was used.

If you continue to have registration issues, please send your Reg.log file from the C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Logs folder. If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'reg'.

* Please log into Hold'em Manager Poker Software - Best Poker Tracking Software (http://www.holdemmanager.com) using a non-IE browser that does not have script blocking.

Click on My Account - Licenses.

Reset your profle.

Send the reg.log to support@holdemmanager.com with a link to this thread. It will contain your license code, so do not post it here.

Thank you for your help but it didn't work. First I succeeded to register with the update of my key. Then I couldn't connect to PostgreSQL. I read the FAQ about this but that does not work either :-(

When I run HM it is written that I am not registered and I can't go further than the window where I can connect to PostgreSQL.

I don't know what to do : I am really lost now... I have uninstalled Norton Antivirus because I have read that he may be the cause of the issue but after rebooting nothing more happened...

what can I do now?

Check your proxy settings:
1) Open your Internet Explorer and go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections and click on "LAN-Settings" at the bottom.
2) Uncheck every box in the small new menu and click ok.
3) Try to register HM again.

I only use Mozilla Firefox. Nevertheless I unchecked what was checked in Internet Explorer (LAN settings) but nothing changes. As I can't connect to postgreSQL I am even not asked anymore to register my license. I have read the FAQ about it but nothing works. I use Windows 8 and it seems that this Windows is too recent for the HM1. Maybe I should try HM2 but I am a bit afraid this won't work either as I have to upgrade from HM1 to HM2...

I run HM1 on Windows 8.

Here is a guide to help with issues with Windows 8 and HM.

http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/346061-windows-8-upgrade-guide.html

- Please see these steps to fix postgresql connection issues:

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/91/Can't+Connect+%7B47%7D+Failed+to+Start+PostgreSQL+

- Please make sure that you have allowed postgres and pg_ctl in your firewall and antivirus exceptions. They are in postgres\bin. Allow port 5432 in your firewall exceptions as well.

- Please update windows fully. Please keep checking until it shows twice five minutes apart that there are no more updates.

- Please update your network adapter. Open device manager and find the model #. Search google for the model # drivers to download.

- Please run the windows repair on your winsock:

How to determine and to recover from Winsock2 corruption in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, and in Windows Vista (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259)

If you are using Mcafee, Norton, Comodo or AVG for security, they have been causing a lot of issues with postgres lately. We recommend using a different program, such as Microsoft's firewall and Microsoft Security Essential. If you do feel that you need Comodo or AVG, uninstall first, install postgres, then reinstall after it is working.

See this guide for Windows Firewall:

http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1052/Windows+Firewall+%7B47%7D+Defender+Problems

Download the same version you are running from Download PostgreSQL | EnterpriseDB (http://www.enterprisedb.com/products-services-training/pgdownload#windows) - do not use 9.1 or 9.3.

Right click the setup file, click properties. Click the unblock button at the bottom.

Empty the c:\temp and/or c:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp folders.

If there is still an issue, we need to know the error - it is in the temp folder - bitrockinstaller.txt file.
