I am using 1.11.06a. Two problems have arisen in the last couple of days, coinciding with my update, I think both Stars and FTP updates and also my computer crashing:-
1. The HUD is not showing on Stars tables but Table Manager is recognising the tables.
2. HUD is working on Full Tilt but when I click on the Sessions tab nothing is recorded-e.g I just played a session now but there is nothing there when I click either 'day' or 'sesssion' on the relevant tab.
Any suggestions welcome.
Also -perhaps a related problem-when I have tried to import externally generated hand histories in the last 24 hours none are succefully imported and are reported as import errors.

If your computer crashed when using HM or importing hands your database is likely corrupt. That could explain both of your problems.
*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands
Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere.
To verify the location: Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: ___________________

The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.

Ok-how do I transfer the contents of the old db to the new ie where do I find the hand histories ?
Also-is there anyway of finding the 'lost ' hand histories which showed on the hud but did not appear on the sessions database ?

Your handhistories are in the archive folder as Fozzy posted. This is usually c:\hmarchive.
If you are missing hands its usually a filter problem. please clear your filters (filter->clear) one time although it seems like no filters are defined.
If that doesn't help please try to reimport the hand from the above mentioned archive folder
Tried the new database solution but still no HUD on Stars.Looks like that is the not the solution. Any ideas for what next ?

What type of games are you playing on PokerStars?
Is your PokerStars lobby in English?
Can you update Postgresql to 8.4.7 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org) and then reimport your archive into a new database?
