For performance and order purpose i have reinstalled from scratch Postgres and both HM, in order i have done:

install 8.4> install hm1>import from archive (original HH)> import player notes from notes.xml ( from Stars)> exported hands>everything is ok
install 9.2 (tested previously on hm2 without problems)>install hm2>imported hands previously exported with hm1> up to here everything ok

Now i have to import player notes from hm1 to hm2 but in database manager when i choose "import" i have error "No Holdem Manager1 databases were found"

8.4 is on port 5432 and 9.2 on 5433; same user and same password.

I dont really need to import database from hm1, need only player notes on hm2 but i don't know other metods.

Sorry for bad english :p and ty in advance for replies :)

Bumping threads will move them back in the line. We answer from oldest.

You cannot access across ports. To import, they need to be on the same port. Create a new HM1 DB on the same port as HM2, and then import the hands, then the notes. Then, you can import the notes in HM2 from the HM1 database.

Sorry for the bump, I didn't know the rule :o

Now I do as you said, then after HM1 will work totally on 9.2 ? If yes i guess it will use "postgresql.conf" of 9.2 ?

Ty, gonna try :p

It's not really a rule per se, we just answer older ones first, so a bump moves it to the back of the line. So it just helps you get answered faster.

Yes, that will work.

I have done as you said and notes are imported, thank you.
Just for info: With HM1 logged on the same port of HM2 (5433) it seems it's usable ( i have not tried) but returns an error while doing backup; then just revert to original port for normal use :)

I have the screenshot

120891

"aborted because the server version does not match"

I don't need to solve this problem, i'm using HM2; this is only for info.

8.4 on port 5432 and 9.2 on 5433 are not compatible with each other.

You can't import a HM1 8.4 database--> into HM2 if HM2 is using 9.2

Also for HM1 only use PostgreSQL 8.4.x.

The problem of the topic is already solved with udbrky ; the screen is requested by him for this (trying backup after problem solved) http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/426211-problem-importing-hm1.html#post1932791

P.S. I don't need a solution for this, i have posted image only because he requested it.

Ty, you can close 3D if you want :)
