So searched around a bunch and still am unable to get postgres to install. I've tried newest versions all the way back to 8.39. Always get the error that postgres could not install. When installing as a package with trial of HEM I get the error: could not install language "plpgsql" does not exist.

Found a thread here with something about activating Microsoft scription host. I suppose I either suck at searching Google, or simply could not find how to "activate it."

Installed as admin, firewalls unblocked, each multiple times.

Windows 7 64bit
currently uninstalled hem, postgres and deleted postgres user.

Try to install it using to a non default folder.
So NOT to: program files(x86)/PostgreSQL
but for example just to C:/PostgreSQL

If that doesn't resolve it.
Install 8.2.20 (download it from www.postgresql.conf)
8.2.x has never NOT run.

8.3/8.4/9.0 not running is common for many users.
