I recently got a new computer and am in the process of syncing my previous database. Upon trying to import all my old hands i hit a bit of a hurdle. firstly, i try to import the folder w all my old hands in it and HEM doesnt seem torecognize that there is anything in that folder. upon further investigation i tried importing an individual HH file and it gave me this response :

File 22462246234623462346234623462346234623462346234623 46234623462346234623462346234623462346234623462346 23462346234623462346234623462346234623462346234623 4623462346234623462346Silverbulletday (max 6)_1246072792 does not exist. verify that the correct file name was given"

I have a vague recollection of having similar difficulties when importing an old database to another computer; and if my memory serves me correctly it was bc the file name was too long ( and i obv forget how to resolve it). However, i may be mistaken. regardless any help from you guys will be appreciated.

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

Can you move the hands you want to import to a different folder, and then try the "import from folder" on them again.

Can you attach one of the handhistory files (or email one to support@holdemmanager.com)

What changed the file name of these files, making them so long? (are these datamined hands?)

when u manually move teh HH themselves into a diff folder the import works. but when i move the folders teh HH are in the import doesnt work ( which is incredibly inconvenient). i really do not want to manually move every HH from to a diff folder to import. these particular hands are not datamined and do not know why the names are so long. FWIW i loaded these hands off a backup HD to my new comp. i will attach a HH in an email to support.

Is Bodog the main site you played on, whose hands cause your import troubles?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bodog Hand Grabber,True,True,C:\Program Files (x86)\Bodog Hand Grabber

Can you change Bodog's archive folder do your default: C:/HMArchive.
And then restart HoldemManager.

Try creating a new database and reimport your hands.

Archive folder for Bodog, should be: C:/HMArchive (same as your other settings)

Do they import as errors?
Did you you the hands to a different folder before you ran a "import from folder" on them?

Can you attach one of the handhistory files here?

yes, i did that and it worked. however, there is a folder for every day of every month over the past two yrs, and i really dont feel like manually moving the HH from each folder to another for obvious reasons.

when i try to attach a HH the folders are empty for some reason ( even tho there are in fact HH in teh folders)

it may have something to do w the file names being too long, i dont know...

Please try a "Import from folder" on one of the "day" subfolders - does it work or what happens?

no, taht still does not work. fwiw, a good portion of my hands in the database are unable to be opened and i am presented w an error message saying "could not open file because file name it too long"

Odd, can you send us some of the files with link to this thread to support@holdemmanager.com?

As a workaround i would recommend to use a file rename tool to change the file names. You should something via google.
I use Total Commander for example.

ok, will do. is there any way you know of to automatically change the names of multiple files in multiple folders ( ie not having to select each day of each month and go in selcet the hands, and manually change the name of each file). bc there are obv thousands of folders i would have to do this with and would take forever...

You should google for a tool like this. I have no experience with something like this, i do such things with total commanders build in rename tool but i don't think it works for multi-folders

after a buttload of messing around, i figured out how to rename multiple files and manually imported hands from everyday of every month. FUN TIMES!

on top of that, my HEM has missed a few big hands from my last session - why? thats a damn good question.

and before u ask, yes i have teh latest version of hem..

Reimport the handhistory file containing the missing hands into a new empty database. If they then still don't show up, email us the file to support@holdemmanager.com

found teh HH, how do i create a new database? also, HEM is missing hands sporadically, am i going to have to create a new database every friggin time it misses a hand. i dont mean to be rude but this is getting absurd.

also, now the hud is not popping up on certain tables. wtfffff

fwiw the table where the hud is not working or saving hands is recognized by table manager

You have no HUD on what type of table, on which site?
DEEP + ANTE table on PokerStars? Or Bodog? You have the latest version of Idleminer?
