I am suggesting to PokerStars that they integrate it into their application but it could go even better with yours. This could be amazing for online poker. Please get a developer kit (or several) from Leap Motion and please try to integrate it into TN2 (after you fix some of these bugs). Thanks!

Thank you for suggestion, but TN uses keyboard for hotkeys. And requires keyboard in PC.

What you are saying is you can't expand its capabilities? Really? That is really my suggestion. I am sure it is not quite as complicated as you think. You could create an Leap Motion applet that records hand gestures and then those hand gestures correspond to the keyboard strokes for fold, call, etc. I just think you are missing out on something important which could greatly expand your customer base and add a potentially killer feature to retain your current customers.

Basically, all I am saying is don't write it off until you have explored it further. At least, bring it to the attention of TableNinja managers.

Currently TN do not supports hand gestures. Any.
Passed to developers.

Hi Bastiat

We have talked to the developer, and yes, leapmotion looks like a pretty cool thing to have. In the near-term future (2-3 months or so), we're thinking of adding this - assuming leapmotion does work as advertised. Out of curiosity - have you already tried it? It looks they went live only on 29th of July.

That's great, thanks...I am supposed to get mine tomorrow...I think this guy's app is going to come really close to working almost perfectly with TN...your developers might want to work with him or something but maybe his app is going to be perfect with TN as is...I have been talking to him on their forums and he says the next version or two of his app is going to have a lot more functionality but it looks pretty amazing as is...he is demonstrating it on a Mac but he has an identical app for Windows...

No problem, this is another thing to consider, too....

Gaze Interaction - Tobii (http://www.tobii.com/en/gaze-interaction/global/)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir4YTzu3F0E

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlYYfo0Xonk

and, at some point, you also might want to consider integrating voice recognition, too...

Amazon.com: Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional 12: Software (http://www.amazon.com/Nuance-Communications-Inc-A209A-G00-12-0-NaturallySpeaking/dp/B008NP76AQ/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1375541757&sr=8-8&keywords=dragon+naturally+speaking+12)

and another way to do the voice recognition is via the Microsoft Kinect for Windows and they have a software developers kit...

Download the Kinect SDK & Developer Toolkit | Kinect for Windows (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindows/Develop/Developer-Downloads.aspx)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bYxgp_o5p9o

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindows/develop/tutorials/tutorialsdesc.aspx?tutorialid=Tutorial3

I think if you could eventually integrate and combine all 3 (gestures, gaze, and voice) then you would have a perfect product for the future that would pretty much handle any playing environment and make playing as efficient and effortless as possible, and most importantly, make your product highly desirable in the future as more and more people start using these technologies. And, I know I certainly would not have any complaints about the new TN pricing structure if you did. ;)

Our lead developer looked into this and About gaze interaction: eviacam (http://eviacam.sourceforge.net/) seems pretty nice, but we will need to adjust it to fit TN. Also, the future (much better than Tobii) is www.theeyetribe.com - we're anxiously waiting for them to make their product available to the masses.

About DragonNaturallySpeaking - yes, it's a top-notch program, but it's very expensive. Windows already comes with their own voice recognition, but it's not that good when it comes to numbers

Thanks! Even the Kinetic voice recognition? Is it just built off the standard Windows voice recognition and the only difference is the Kinetic device and its microphone array?

Hi Bastiat,

The standard voice recognition that comes with Windows (which Kinetic is also based on) is pretty poor. I have tested this thoroughly a wihle ago, and while for words like "fold", "call", "bet", "raise", it works rather well, there are a lot of problems when it comes to interpreting numbers. Also, there's a lot of latency when it comes to recognizing words (sometimes up to 200-300 ms). What I mean is that after you've said the sentence, it takes sometimes up to 200-300 ms for the engine to recognize that the sentence is over. I'm pretty sure that at some point we'll add voice commands to TN2, but for now they are not a high priority.

Best,
John

Yep totally understand...it would be nice just to be able to say fold...when you do put it into effect, maybe use letters to signify the table so the player could say "Table A fold" or so...

No problem, yep it is pretty sweet...the Tobii Gaze is coming out this fall too...

Tobii REX Limited Edition (http://www.tobii.com/en/gaze-interaction/global/solutions/devices-components/Tobii-Rex-Limited-Edition/)

I hope you guys look at this one too...these companies really should just merge...i think tobii is in sweden and the eye tribe is in denmark...makes sense...maybe some day...i think their devices would be even better and cheaper if they did...

also, the tobii supports 27" monitors and who knows it might work with 30" too...I talked to the eye tribe and they said their device "should" work on a 27"...I am going to buy one and try it out on my 30" and hopefully (fingers crossed) it will work
