Hi

Have HEM w licence. Wanted to test Omaha Manager (OM). Got Test Licence. Upon deleting licence get error saying: HEM canīt delete, do it manually. Switched to hidden files on. Specified file is nowhere to be found.

Got back to HEM homepage. Reset HEM licence. Doesnīt matter. HEM is still regitered and working and unable to delete licence.

I am already used to it, that nothing ever works with this software, still it infuriates me everytime. The way to get the test licence was very different from the way your homepage describes it (obtain it from within the application) when instead one has to mail to sales.

I suppose your error message is outdated in that same way, because there is no file to delete. Can you please set me up so I can have this test licence work AND much more important have my current licence work after that?

Great. Now what do I have to do?

Create a new text document in C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder by right clicking inside the folder on a blank space, choose New from the popup Menu and then choose text document and name it LicDebug with a capital L and D
Open HM and register
Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file if it fixes the issue or not

done everything. Says I am in developer mode or something upon start.

Open HM and register

I want to DELETE the current licence key. That is still not possible. Same error message.

Upon restart of HEM I had to register again. I did, couldnīt enter a serial number. Now I have the same "old" licence key with no Omaha.

First of all, we need to enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
Problems Registering Holdem Manager:

Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

This is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just regular hidden files)

Also please try this:

1. Update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe
2. Create a new text document in the Config folder and name it LicDebug
3. Open HM and register
4. Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file

This should enable you to enter the new/correct serial.

This menu looks different for me (see attachment). The radiobutton is ticked with "Hidden Files: Show ALL files".

This: C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic is NOT existent. Folder is empty.

I have the newest version of HEM (have updated 3 days ago)

2) to 4) This is what was your first suggestion. It did not work. READ THE HISTORY.

unreal really.

Also I used the advanced search function looking for holemmanager.lic including system files and hidden files. No such file was found.

Maybe that has something to do with your beta online registration where my licence keys now are stored. And which I was stupid enough to try to use, though its beta.

HoldemManager.lic is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just regular hidden file)

There should be another option where you can make system files visible.

run HM with old code
go to Help - registration - clear code
then restart HM and register it with common serial (PR2)

are you serious?

you might wanna read the title of this thread.

I get an error message upon trying to delete/reset my licence key. THAT IS THE PROBLEM, I CAN NOT DELETE THE LICENCE KEY.

And whenever I get to the point where I have to register upon start I can NOT choose which licence key to use. It just picks the one for which I paid (HEM only) and not the testkey for Omaha.

It is really annoying when you not even take the time to understand what the problem is.

You know what would be cool. If the user could have a menu entry like: entry licence key. Upon clicking he could overwrite whatever is written there, close it, HEM checks if its valid and off we go and play. That would be revolutionary. And most customers would prefer it to digging hidden system files and generating empty txt files and posting post after post in a freaking loop where in the end of a thread that started with

I can not delete my licence

you get the advice to

delete your licence.

What you think?

if you delete "lic" file and do LicDebug trick, license must be cleared

else email support@holdemmanager.com to arrange Teamviewer seddion

yeah well it is not deleted.

And even if I choose activate later, it shows my usual licence code.

Upon trying to delete I get the error message which was the reason I opened this thread in the first place.

Your excellent support team from two different continents was not able to get me any further in several days. Wow. Good job.

@bliga1: Are you using HM1 or HM2?
Are you using Windows 8.1?

For HM1: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/449682-license-key-problem-after-windows-8-1-upgrade.html
did you try the licdebug?
