Hello !
I have used under database the optimze funktion to scan my computer and make good settings in postgres SQL.
He have save my old settings and scanned my computer.

After this i can not start HM
I become alwayse the message "A connection to PostgreSQL could not made. Whould you like to have HM attempt to start the service"

I have also restart my computer, but it is the same.

So i have the problem, that he have save my old settings, but how can restore it, if HM can not start ?

Please help

You should find the settings pg_hba.conf and the backup file for them under c:\progam files(X869\postgresql\8.4\data or something similar.

Restore the original file and restart your computer. The postgresql service should start again.

Thanks you very much, HM starts again. :)

Short other Question:
my path is ...\PostgreSQL\8.2\data, so i think i have a old PostgreSQL running
Should i be update or is it not important ?

Give it a FAQ or somthing that help me to update to 8.4 (Don't want make a mistake, because my database are very large and i don't won't to loose it)

The optimization tool works with SQL 8.4 only.

You can't "upgrade" 8.2--> to 8.4.
You'll need to reimport all your hands into a new empty 8.4 database.

Since your database it large, I'd just stick with SQL 8.2
You can perform maintenance on your database manually in pgadminIII.
