HUD problem Pokestar (Seating Preferences not saved)

Hi,

I have this annoying problem for a while.
When I choose my "Seating Preferences" for the site Pokerstars in HUD options, it is working only for 5-10 minutes. After this 5-10 minutes I can see that all the HUD stats are tangled on my table. I go back to "Seating Preferences" settings and everything is gone, I need to rechoose my preferences and the HUD will work fine again... for 5-10 minutes.

I have HEM2 for a couple of months and I experience this only for few days.

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

I am running HEM2 on Windows 8.
I cannot find any HEM applications in the firewall settings and my windows is up to date.
But I still experience the same issue.

Please see our FAQ, it has specifics for Win FW.

1) Please make sure you are installing on an administrator account and running as an administrator.

2) Please turn off UAC.

3) You'll need to add:
- hmupdate.exe (only exists during update)
- holdemmanager.exe
- hudfuncapps2.exe
- postgres and pg_ctl, your poker client .exe
- table ninja.exe
- tablescannerdllloader.exe
- notecaddy.business.dll and notecaddy.contents.dll from the modules folder in holdemmanager's program files folder (you might have to type in the names in some firewalls, they do not show)

to the exceptions list in your firewall and antivirus. ****

4) Make sure that windows is fully updated. Keep checking for updates until it says twice five minutes apart that there are no more updates available.

5) You need to make sure that this folder*,

8/7/Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager

as well as c:\postgresql (or c:\programfiles\postgresql), c:\programfiles\holdemmanager2, c:\hm2archive, c:\hmarchive and your site's hand history folder are each not read only** and that all permissions are set to full for your user name. ***

** You will need to right click the folder, open properties. At the bottom in Attributes, uncheck the Read-Only. The folder will continue showing read only after that, this is an issue in Windows

I have tried the guide, but still have the same issue. The seating positions are only not saved for pokerstars, i have tried to change the for iPoker which works fine.

I use Win7, Windows Firewall, AV Antivir. Turned AV and FW off temporaillly but didn't help me.

I have installed Pokerstars.fr and the Pokerstars.com Client.

turned it off now, but it doesn't helped me.

When I start HEM, while i haven't open the stars software, and change the seating position, the changes are not saved after a restart of HEM.

Completely uninstall AVG.

uninstalled the Antivir, but it doesn't helped. Did the other stuff allready before.

Close HM2.

Backup your prefs.xml file in the

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ Config folder
and move it to a different folder.

Hi,

1) Start HM2 and Export any custom HUD configs - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1661/Backup+and+Reset+HUD+to+Default+HUD+to+troubleshoo t+HUD+or+Crashing+Issues

2) Close HM2.

3) Please create a backup of your settings and reset your settings as explained here - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/2511/Create+a+Backup+and+restore+default+settings

4) Restart HM2

5) Manually reset your HUD Options > Seating Preferences > for your site/seats

Try to reproduce the problem using the default HUD/settings. If it works properly you can try importing your customized HUD again that you exported in step 2 above. If the problem returns after importing your HUD you know it is a problem with your HUD Config and you will need to recreate it from scratch or import an older backup of the HUD.

If that did not solve your problems you can restore all of your original settings using the Utilities menu as explained in step 3 of the above FAQ.

This didn't resolve my problems. I think it's very strange that my problem only appears for pokerstars. Maybe it has to todo with the installation of different clients, pokerstars.com, pokerstars.fr and an old installation of pokerstars.eu.

It is likely related to the fact that you have multiple clients installed. I think we can only read the seating preferences from one of their ini files at a time. Does it affect all of the ps.xx clients or just one or two of them?

It affects all Clients. For example: I want to make seat 5 at a 9max table to my prefered seat. If I change it from "none" to 5, close HEM and restart it its back to "none". On a 6max table my prefered seat is nr. 3, if I change it to something different, restart HEM it's 3 again.

It reads the ini file from the ps.com client so make sure the ps.com client is configured properly. If you are no longer playing on that client you can uninstall it and remove the associated \appdata folder for that client where we read the ini settings from.

Great it works now! I didn't had a prefered seat set in the pokerstars software for the 9 max table, since auto center did that well for me. Turned off auto center like you told me before, but didn't changed my seating preferences.

It doesn't looks logical to me that I can change my Seating Preferences in HEM for Pokerstars, when they are reseted to the settings from Pokerstars every few minutes.
