this is the text of the error message:

An error occured while loading the Prefs files: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml. Version=2.0.0.0. Culture=neutral. PublicKey Token=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Please make sure that your windows is uptodate, all service packs and windows updates installed.

Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Download and run this uninstaller -
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe


And try a update installation of Holdemmanager: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

that did not work, still get same errormessage when i try to start HM up.

Please uninstall HEM using Revo Uninstaller: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Using Revo Uninstaller (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+)

After completion please reboot your computer and download and install the full installer from our homepage. Please make sure that the postgresql option is disabled during the installation.

what Windows version you use?
please - full name with all Service packs

windows 7 home premium (genuine copy off course). 64-bit operating system.
not sure where to find info about the service packs, but i checked windows update history and find this:
Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 3 for x64-based Systems
(KB973685).
