Hi guys,

just a quick question regarding the variable $strengthversusaverage. The meaning of average in this context is pretty clear but what is strength explicitly?

Is it also the average strength of a player's hand or is it rather the minimal strength a player requires to perform an action?

Example: assuming we have a definition 'calls rivershove $strengthversusaverage' will $strengthversusaverage compare the average strength of a certain player's hand with the average of the player pool or rather the minimal strength of a certain player's hand (i.e. the worst hand) a player has in his range to perform the action?

The definition

$strengthversusaverage - Compares the average strength of a player's hand versus the player pool. This variable must be used in conjunction with exactly one of the following: $cardrange, $flophandrange, $turnhandrange, $riverhandrange. For exmaple, if you make a note definition about continuation betting, a value of -30% means this player has shown cards that are 30% weaker than average.

does sound a little confusing it as it says "Compares the average strength of a player's hand" but also "a value of -30% means this player has shown cards that are 30% weaker than average".

In the second case calling a rivershove with third pair would result in a $strengthversusaverage of maybe -60% although the player on average only calls rivershoves with a $strengthversusaverage of -5%.

Thanks for helping on this.

It will

compare the average strength of a certain player's hand with the average of the player pool

The average strengt of just the weakest hand would be useless imho. That would lead to relativly strong showings with players on which you have a few hands and relativly weak showings on players on which you have many hands.
