Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

OS - Win 7 Home premium, don't use any firewalls or anti-viruses, have the latest version of HM. I've already done all the steps above and it's still not working.. any suggestions?

What happens if you start hmhud.exe when HoldemManager is NOT running?

Manually run a Windows Update to make sure you have ALL .net framework updates installed.

updated .net framework but it didn't help.
if I start hmhud.exe table manager opens..

Reinstall HM using the 93 mb full installer @ http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

to a different folder.
When you run it from the new folder, do you still get the same error?

Also update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Hm_1.11.06_Internal.exe

I do get the same error..
If I get it and then do 'relaunch hud', table manager pops up and it doesn't crash, but the hud doesn't work and table manager doesn't show my current tables.

Please attach your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Program Files(X86)\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder (or something similar depending on your installation). It may be just called holdemmanager if you've extenstions turned off.

That looks fine so it seems to be something on your system causing the crash.

are you using any 3rd party firewall, anti-spyware, adaware, tuning or registry cleaning programs? and if yes which ones?

no I'm not. I got my laptop like a month ago, hud wasn't working from the very beginning..

The cause of the problem was his HP Envy's pre-installed Stardock theme.

I also have an Envy and was having the same exact problems. I selected a basic theme, and its still not working.

You have to uninstall it completely.

Close HM.

Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs on XP).

Stardock My Colors > Uninstall

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

Restart HM.
