Hi,
I recently got my computer back from a warranty fix and was getting the postgre cannot connect error. I solved it by reinstalling with the combi installer.
The old install is still on my computer in the postgreSQL folder in program files. How can I export the hands from this?
Thanks
James

options--> database management--> connect-->
can you still see and connect to the old database?
If you can, connect to it, export your hands.
If you can't: was the old database using a different version of SQL?
Do you still have the possibility to reimport your original handhistories from your archive folder??

No, only the new database is there.
The folder with the old install of postgre is large though, I know the data's in there somewhere!
Nope, all done with version 8.4.
Could reimport hand histories as a last resort, but would rather not, we're talking 3 years worth combined over various different comps!

If you reinstalled SQL 8.4 to the old folder (or the folder containing your old files) it should auto-detect the old database.
If it doesn't reimport your hands into a new database.
