Hi,

my question is related to this post (http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/412381-hm2-folder-size.html#post1863261).

A HM2 database stores data in two folders.
60% in the PostgreSQL database
40% in the C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ Database\ folder

Could it be possible, that when using Postgres9.2 there is only ONE database folder?

On my system there's a \Postgres\Database\HM2013 folder (name of database in HM software = HM2013), but there is NO C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ Database\HM2013 folder!

There's only a C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ Database\HM2_new folder (= name of older and meanwhile deleted database): Does HM2 really store information from HM2013 database in \AppData\...\HM2_new folder?

A little confused due to missing \AppData\...\HM2013 folder is
Tom

The folder should be there for all databases regardless of which postgresql version but I personally have never used v9.2. Are you noticing any problems with your current database? If you create a new database in HM2 for a quick test does the folder get created?

*Try creating a new DataBase - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1431/How+is+a+new+database+created+in+Holdem+Manager+2% 3F
*Now import a small portion of your \HM2Archive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/81/Options+%7B47%7D+Hand+Importing+%7B47%7D+Manual+Ha nd+Importing
All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HM2Archive\2009\07\31) or if it was auto-imported with 7283+ it would be in \HM2Archive\SiteName\YYYY\DD\MM.
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and backup/restore any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.
*Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/5/Database+Manager+%28Ribbon%29

\Postgres\Database\HM2013 folder
This is your roaming folder. (with the 40% of the database)

The other 60% in the traditional PostgreSQL database is in the PostgreSQL/8.4/data/base folder

The good news: My current database seems to work properly; all played hand are tracked, and stats seem to be calculated correctly (just checked this with "New Stars VPPs", the numbers in PokerStars and HM are the same.

The "bad" news: I already tried what you suggested and created a new database HM_test (including importing a few hands). The result: Only ONE folder (\Postgres\Database\HM_test) was created, no folder ...\AppData\...\HM_test available. I also checked other locations, but nowhere I found a second HM_test folder.

Due to the reason, that everthing seems to work correct, I'd like to suggest to stop at this point. In case that I "find" find the "missing" folder, I'll inform you in this thread.

THX

According to the post by Patvs it sounds like PSQL 9.2 creates the HM2 players Roaming folder in a different folder which I wasn't aware of as I have never installed/used that version. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

See screenshot. This is where you enter the location of the roaming (database parent) folder, when you create a new database.
Notice, I'm also using a non-default folder. (default location is set to : C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ Database\ folder )

THX for your patience: Now I found the reason for the "missing" folder: It was just a misinterpretation of "60% in the PostgreSQL database"!
I expected to find "another" folder with the same name like the database I created: Soooooo foolish! :)

Finally I found the "missing" folder: Those 60% are stored inside here:

Thanks for your explanations and sorry for confusing you! :o
