View Full Version : Marking hands problem

When I mark hands in play, sometimes (most of the time) it marks a wrong hand (not the one that I actually put the check mark on)

Also, when I want to copy a hand to post it somewhere it doesn't usually take the right hand. I think this two problems are related.

I really hate marking a hand and not finding it when I want to review it.

Please do something about this. I hope you understand what is the problem. I am not the only one experiencing it.

On which site did you play the hands you're marking, what type of games?

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

On which site did you play the hands you're marking, what type of games?I experienced this problem on all the sites that I played. NLHE 6max and FR.

After posting the problems I saw the similar topics and I turned off UAC and also added the exceptions to the windows firewall.

I haven't played yet, so I don't know if it fixed the problem. I will update as soon as I find out.

Isn't there any way to fix this for good with an update? This happens when a I have the window opened with a hand that ended, and then at the same time another hand finishes and is imported by HM2. So then it somehow auto-updates the list and the hand that I am looking at is not the actual hand that HM2 thinks I'm looking at... so when I mark it, it marks the other hand.

I don't know how clear I was. Maybe if the hands wouldn't be affected by the new imported hands it would fix this.

Not fixed yet

This is the problem.

If I click on the name, or select the hand from the list on the popup, it still does the same.

This is an old problem that I've been waiting to be resolved since 2012. Really pathetic serioulsy... annoying problem.

Thread I started in 2012: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/bug-reports/361501-exporting-hands-disk.html

This absolutely has to be fixed. What's the point of having the option to mark hands if it doesn't mark the right hands.

It's hard to work on my game on marked hands, more than half of them are the wrong hands and it takes time and effort to find the right hands (I have to select the hand so it's highlighted then sort by time and date then scroll till i find the highlighted hand, then look for the hand that I actually marked in the vicinity of the wrong marked hand and then open it and remark it.) This is time and effort that I shouldn't be putting in and that I could use more wisely.

I think everybody has this problem, but it's easy to say "fuck it" and just forget about marking hands. But I do hope this is solved as soon as possible because this is a serious problem and is creating obstacles for everybody in learning to play better by review.

We are re-testing this. Currently, we are preparing for a release, so testing gets delayed some.

This was fixed previously, so we will look into it.

I noticed this happening again tonight. How can I fix this? Why is it hard to get this bug out?

Can we make a poll to see how many others have this problem too?

We have not been able to reproduce this in all the times we're trying.

Make sure your times are set correctly and your folder permissions are correct, and run database maintenance - this is in Database - Maintenance. click the database name in the bottom right corner.

Your computer clock should match your current timestamp in the hands section in active sessions and reports.

if not, open Hand Importing - Site Time Adjustment and make the adjustment.

The formula is Computer clock - Sessions time.

So if your computer clock is January 1 12:00 and your sessions show January 1 5:00, you would add 7 hours.

If your computer clock is behind the Sessions time, you would subtract.

Please send a screenshot of your sessions with computer clock while playing if there is another issue.

Please take and attach a screen shot - Capture a Screen Shot of your Desktop or the Active Window in Windows (http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm)

For 8/7/Vista, there is a built-in Snipping Tool in Start - Accessories.

1) Please make sure you are installing on an administrator account and running as an administrator.

2) Please turn off UAC.

3) You'll need to add:
- hmupdate.exe (only exists during update)
- holdemmanager.exe
- hudfuncapps2.exe
- postgres and pg_ctl, your poker client .exe
- table ninja.exe
- tablescannerdllloader.exe
- notecaddy.business.dll and notecaddy.contents.dll from the modules folder in holdemmanager's program files folder (you might have to type in the names in some firewalls, they do not show)

to the exceptions list in your firewall and antivirus. ****

4) Make sure that windows is fully updated. Keep checking for updates until it says twice five minutes apart that there are no more updates available.

5) You need to make sure that this folder*,

8/7/Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager

as well as c:\postgresql (or c:\programfiles\postgresql), c:\programfiles\holdemmanager2, c:\hm2archive, c:\hmarchive and your site's hand history folder are each not read only** and that all permissions are set to full for your user name. ***

* You will need to show hidden files. See this tutorial for showing system and hidden files:

http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/832/How+are+Hidden+Files+Viewed+in+Windows%3F+

See the location here for win 7:

http://www.udbrky.com/hmsupport/configfile.PNG

See the location here for win xp:

http://www.udbrky.com/hmsupport/configfile.PNG

** You will need to right click the folder, open properties. At the bottom in Attributes, uncheck the Read-Only. The folder will continue showing read only after that, this is an issue in Windows

*** This is in Properties as well, in Security.

****Please see this guide for Windows Firewall:

http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1052/Windows+Firewall+%7B47%7D+Defender+Problems

Please see this FAQ for setting permissions and unchecking read only:

http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/2561/Set+Correct+Permissions+on+files+and+folders+HM2+u se

1) Please close HM

2) Please open PGAdminIII

It is in the Start -> Postgres folder.

3) Enter your postgres password. The default password is typically postgrespass.

4) Open the databases.

5) Highlight your database.

6) Right click, click maintenance.

7) Run the vacuum and analyze and reindex functions.

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+

Please try again.

Or, this is done through the database control panel.
