SQL database backup

Hi guys,

just a few questions here:
1. What is the default location to place the SQL database?
2. Is there a good way of backing up the database so in case the computer goes down I have a backup?

The default folder is determined by the Postgresql installation. c:\program files(x86)\postgresql\8.4\data or something similar.
If you use a standalone postgresql installer you can choose other folders for the databases.
