Please advise. Already lost my damned database at the start of december and don't want to lose it again.

Hopefully there is a simple fix.

reinstall microsoft .net framework:

1) download and run this uninstaller -
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) install this one:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

are you using any 3rd party firewall, anti-spyware, adaware, tuning or registry cleaning programs? and if yes which ones?

Getting this now after I have done the cleanup and am trying the second step.

I use Advanced care system which does everything for me.

I updated to the latest version of HEM yesterday but it worked fine for a couple of sessions then today it's doing this.

Edit: Downloaded it again and it ran fine but I am still getting the same error when starting HEM up.

I don't think it has anything to do with the HM version.
Probably your download of 1.11.05e is corrupt. Please reboot your computer, clear your browser cache or use a different browser and download and install the update again.

1. Reboot your computer
2. If that doesn't help look for the hidden system file postmaster.pid in the postgresql data folder, delete it and reboot your computer again.
3. Check the postgresql service in the windows services (control panel->administration). Sometimes it helps to change the Logon As.. to "local system account"
4. Check our FAQ:
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Can't Connect / Failed to Start PostgreSQL (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/91/Can%27t+Connect+%7B47%7D+Failed+to+Start+PostgreSQ L+)

Seems like your computer is dying...

Lets try this:

Please uninstall HEM using Revo Uninstaller: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Using Revo Uninstaller (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+)

After completion please reboot your computer and download and install the full installer from our homepage. Please make sure that the postgresql option is disabled during the installation.
