HUD in 1.11.05e makes party freeze very frequently

Hi,

I have HUD problem in both 1.11.05e_internal and 1.11.05e, I have tried both version for approximate one hour each, and with both versions the HUD makes PartyPoker freeze, the only way to solve it is to close the process HMHud.exe in Task Manager, and then Relaunch HUD. The HUD makes Party freeze in average every ten minutes. When I tried the versions I played 6-10 tables on Party.

Problems with HUD making Party freeze I experienced many months ago with many HM versions, but back then it did not freeze that often, I remember it was freezing only every second hours in average.

In November and December I have played approximate 150 hours multitable party with 1.11.05c and 1.11.05d without any freezing problems.

Because of the problems I had to go roll back from 1.11.05e to an earlier version and face the EV problems again.

Also Can you make sure your Opacity slider in Hud options > Player Preferences> Appearance TAB is 100% to the right and also do the same for the mucked cards Opacity

Also keep task manager running and have it sort by CPU in the Processes TAB and see what is using the most CPU when the lagging happens.

Try disabling as many programs as possible such as AHK scripts,Firewall, limewire,Mikogo etc and Antiviruses and if they cant be disabled make sure you add all these programs to the exceptions list such as HMhud.exe,DBcontrol panel.exe and holdemmanager.exe from the Holdem Manager folder aswell as any of the other programs that happen to be running, sometimes for example the antivirus/firewall etc scan every file thats been processed and it can slow things down so running with as few programs as possible.

Also going to control panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer and copy and paste any description if there are any error or information events that coincide with the time of the lagging.

Go to Hud Options > Site Options and disable all the prefetch/track live hands options and if your using FPHG then close that

Lastly make sure your graphics driver is up to date as this can make a big difference even with a brand new PC.

Yup got the same problem. Downloaded the previous version (1.11.05d) which has HUD that says it's version 1.11.05a and all works now, doesn't freeze anymore.

Hopefully you guys will be able to fix it faster than last time this bug was around.

please attach your holdemmanager.config file from c:\program files(x86)\rvg software\holdem manager\config folder (or something similar depending on your installation). it may be just called holdemmanager if you've extentions turned off.

So in general you say 1.11.05d is working and 1.11.05e freezes after some hands?
Is this reproducable for you so that we can have a look at it during a teamviewer session?

Yea that's what appears to be the case. Sometimes it took 2 hours for 1.11.05e to freeze, and sometimes it would freeze immediately after restarting it, suggesting it's some freephg .live hh that is still ongoing after restarting hud causing endless loop (hud uses all the cpu it gets, 25% on quad core). Then it works normally for 10 minutes and happens again.

Probably a related occurrence (but not necessarily coincidental) is that sometimes the "last 3 hands" list in the hud misses hands, and sometimes the current hand is empty.

I'm not sure what could be done in a teamviewer sessions except verify that freezing actually occurs. I could reinstall 1.11.05e though and grab freephg live files the moment the freeze occurs so you could try running them through the parser and see if it locks up for you as well, dunno.

I had exactly the same problem; Party Poker would freeze as though the computer had crashed. I thought it was party so I closed and restarted it. Then as soon as I restarted the HUD it froze up.

Killing the HMHUD process unfroze party but as soon as I started up the HUD it would freeze again.

I just switched to an SSD and I am having the same problem on party with 1.11.05e, had to switch back to ver 1.11.05d.

Ver 1.11.05e was and still is working ok on a standard HDD.

FYI, I installed ver 1.11.06 internal and it still causes Party to freeze. I went back to 1.11.05c. Both 1.11.05c and 1.11.05d is ok but not .05e or .06 internal. When it freezes, Party unfreezes and working again just by closing HEM.

It's a lot of work for us users to not use ahk's and firewalls, and to delete hud configs and create new ones, and play sessions without using tools we are used to, when the programmer could look at the most likely cause, which is the HH parser going into infinite loop because of a malformed HH. Please at least confirm that the parser has been reviewed and it can't be the cause, and we'll put more work into trying to find the cause.

Working now ver 1.11.06 internal...backup prefs.xml and deleted same, set opacity for both hud and muck cards to 100%, turn off live tracking & prefetch for all sites. I left FPHG and AHK betpot on as I need those two.

After it was working, I set opacity to approx. 60% and it was still working. Then turn live tracking for Party and still working. So the only thing different was deleting prefs.xml.

I updated to 1.11.05e. Exported my hud config, deleted prefs.xml and created a new database. Imported hands, imported my hud config, opacity 100%, and party live tracking off. All was good while multi tabling for 3 hours straight. Then I switched the live tracking on, and it froze within 5 minutes.

You are right, I play a few hours today and with live tracking turn on, it freeze after about half an hour. I turn live tracking off and it was good for the next two hours.

Using 1.11.06 internal , FPHG, AHK betpot, opacity turn all the way to the right.

Live-tracking is only a beta feature - so if it causes the freezes for you i recommend disabling it.

My Hud was also freezing because of Live tracking, because i had my folder on the other computer and HEM was accessing it over network. Now, it's ok.. Using SSD btw

Live tracking and hud opacity is not smething that I use a lot altho live tracking is useful. I am just glad that the problem was not cause by FPHG or betpot as I depend on those heavily.

Hi, anything happening wrt fixing this bug? (it's still there in the latest official release)
Could be related, or might not, but if you try to import a file that has for example 100 hh's, and the hh number 50 has errors, the importing of that file stops there, and the last 50 correct hh's don't get imported. Probably different bug though, because importing doesn't freeze like the hud freezes when it finds a hh with an error.

yes i also have this issue on Party. Has cost me a few hundred dollars so far. Using task manager to kill HMHUD.exe process fixes the issue immediately but unfortunately when you are playing a lot of tables the pot is already completed before i have time to do this.

Please go to Hud Options > Table Preferences and enable logging. Then recreate the crash and then go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Logs and send us the log.txt file with details of whats happening to support@holdemmanager.net and a link to the thread you made detailing all the steps you tried and also be sure to send the log before restarting HM otherwise it will clear the log.

Also try to provide as much detail as possible about what was happening at the time the crash happened, did you click a button, switch tab, hover over a stat etc.

Once we get this ill get the developer to take a look and see if we can narrow down the issue
