Hey guys-

Had a problem a while ago with the SQL server.
It came up again and this time i cant restart the service or anything. I get two different messages when i try to connect to SQL:
110981
and
110991

I when i try to stop and restart the server nothing happens except this:
111001
Id be keen to follow the quick solution procedure mentioned here http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/91/Can%27t+Connect+%7B47%7D+Failed+to+Start+PostgreSQ L+ but its advised to export my db in order to be able to reimport it later.
And i obviously cannot do that since i cannot open HM2.

So what should i do here?
Thanks in advance
-Ben

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.
Add postgres.exe, pg_ctl.exe, and port 5432 to the exceptions list of Windows Firewall. (even if the firewall is turned off)

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely. Use the latest 8.4.x installer from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)
