I made a backup of my HM db using pgadmin using the Plain text format. I've researched how to restore this into a new database using psql but I'm having trouble getting it to work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Plain text?
I have never used this and i'm not sure whether this is supported for a restore.
You should use the default options for the backup.

Like I said, I messed up. When you back up using PGAdmin, it gives you the option to do in "Plain". I did that thinking it would be faster and I wasn't worried about compression. All the data's there, but I can't get a psql restore to work -- you can't restore a plain text file using pgAdmin. Anyone have any ideas on what specific steps I need to take?

Thanks.

You no longer have access to the original database?

Nope. Really just need step by step psql instructions to get this working.
