I understand that we set up hero names so that parts of Holdem Manager will know who the Hero is. But we are also able to choose any player that we want in the various tabs in HM, so it seems like even though those other players are not set up to be Hero in the Setup Hero Names section, we can get all the same reports on them as if they were the Hero.
I had to redo my HM database, and was about to set up my Hero name, but then I thought about what I wrote above. If I do not set my player name up in the Setup Hero Names area, it seems like I can still do all the reports on him anyways. So why do we set up the hero names? Is it so that the HUD will know who we are when we are playing at the table? But even that does not seem necessary, so why do we have this step?
