View Full Version : Problem with Merge NLHE hands, reports

I was doing a search for some of my opponents under the PLAYERS section. I wanted to see what hands one of my opponents was 3 barreling with. So I right-clicked on him and chose "Select this player". However when I did this, I noticed the number of hands in the Reports section was smaller than in the PLAYERS section. For example, one player had 3219 hands in the PLAYERS section but only 2757 in the Reports section. I found that this was the case for a bunch of other players I looked at too. There were no filters on in the Reports section.

Also, in looking for 3barrel spots, I noticed that sometimes it didn't show in the stats when a player actually cbet all 3 streets. I think this is because the 3rd barrel was all-in. The way it shows in the Merge HH is that any all-in bet says "raises" x amount instead of "bets" x amount, even if the player is first to act. I think this is the case any time someone bets all-in. So as a result, when my opponent bet all-in as a 3rd barrel, the stats did not record it as a river cbet. I'm sure this causes other stats to be misrepresented as well.

We had some problems with the import of Merge hands in the latest releases because they changed their handhistory format.

The best is to create a new database and reimport all the hands from the archive folder (default c:\hmarchive).

And please make sure that you are using our latest release 1.11.05b http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

I believe this is a problem that hasn't been caught yet. I'm aware of the recent problems of Merge HH's, and I deleted all hands after October 11th, updated to the latest beta, and reimported these hands. I'm still using the older Merge software too, fwiw.

Anyway, the following is a HH example from today:

***** Hand History for Game 29378611234 ***** (Merge)
$200.00 USD NL Texas Hold'em - Wednesday, November 17, 07:43:43 ET 2010

RaisesPerMinute calls [$158.00 USD]
NoGrenadesPlz shows [Qs, Kh ]
RaisesPerMinute shows [Ah, As ]

You can see what I mentioned in my previous post. Also, HEM does not recognize this as a river cbet. Anytime someone makes an all-in bet, I believe HEM misses this as an event of what actually happens. Another example is the following HH where HEM does not classify the action of the preflop limper on the river as Bet OOP vs. Missed Cbet.

Please zip and mail the original handhistory files (you find them in the HM archive folder or in the handhistory folder of your poker client) together with a link to this thread and an explanation of the problem to support@holdemmanager.net. We will then try to reproduce the problem.

Can you guys get this simple bug fixed please? It really shouldn't be that hard or need to take 8 weeks to fix.

We run some tests about 2 Weeks ago and found no Merge import problems with 1.11.05e
but if you want to help us see this thread: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/poker-site-support/40902-merge-cash-hem.html

It's not an import problem, it's a problem with the way HEM interprets the Merge (RPM poker specifically) HH file. Below, I've copied the HEM HH of a hand I played yesterday. I highlighted in red the specific problem. As I stated earlier in the thread, it's a problem when someone bets all-in.

I've emailed you guys HH files and you said you've been able to reproduce the problem. I've followed up twice by email and Fabio has replied twice, both replying with answers stating various reasons it hasn't been fixed yet.

Please keep in mind it affects the stats in the HUD's causing them to be incorrect. When an all-in bet is made and HEM interprets it as a raise, it's missed in the stats as being a bet. I gave an example earlier in the thread.

This issue is (probably) unrelated to the issue in the link you gave in your previous reply.

You guys STILL have not fixed this problem with 1.11.06a. If someone bets all-in, it STILL says "raises" in the HEM HH and causes the stats to be incorrect.

Really? REALLY? Over 3 months, really?
