View Full Version : Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.1' when opening HEM

I am getting this error, Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.1', when I open HEM.
I have been trying to use version 1.11.05b.
When I switch back to 1.11.05 the problem disappears.
Should I just continue using 1.11.05 or do I have to fix the problem?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.
First try to reboot.
If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely

Removing my firewall solved the problem, though the other stuff had not.
I was confused because the older version of HEM still worked.
